Is this the year the WT Falls?

in the last 6 months the following has happened.

un involvement rocks the society.

leaks from the elders school.

I don't believe that they will go down......at least for a long long time. First off because of the cultish attitude. They have these people truly believing that this is the ONLY true religion.

If they pushed for more money from these people they would give it. Especially if the push included "This is for Jehovah". I have seen people post on this board about people who basically can't afford to pay their own bills but they give money to a very rich organization. I don't think the money will stop as long as people have money in their hands.

Second of all I think these people are being abused. And if you watch daytime talk shows you can see almost every day shows on abused spouses (et all) and yet these people stand by the very person who is abusing them. At some point, whether it is the JW's or in an abusive relationship, the abused one loses their identity and believes they are nothing without their abuser.

No, I don't think they will go down as long as they stay the great salesmen that they have been/are.

A story of brotherly love.....

since i've been here, from around july, 2001, i haven't really shared any personal experiences of why i left the society, except for the story about my sister who committed suicide.

this is kind of long, so i will tell it in parts.

if this is god's organization, i will gladly be a devil worshiper.. here goes....... when i was about 27 years old, (around 1984) after my divorce, i'd moved from laurens, south carolina back to andrews, sc, and rented the house beside my grandmother.

I had no idea that you had a similar situation to mine. I am so happy that your baby lived. How old? Male/female? That is so wonderful!

Our situations are so close it is scary. My son was 2 months premature, he weighed 3 12-1/2. I too had been married for one year, in fact I had him 2 days before my first Anniversary. I was 18 at the time.

Believe me, to find someone with a story so close to mine is wonderful. Not that they happened but that I can feel not so alone about the situation. Thank you so much!!!

You are a wonderful woman for what you did for your Aunt. What a blessing you were to her. I am so sorry that you had to go through so much pain from those in "God's Loving Organization". What a crock! But through all of that you showed the person you are inside and from what I see you are beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

I am writing this through tears. I am having a hard time knowing what to say but I felt I needed to let you know how I felt. I am crying because of my own experience. 25 years ago this April I had a son 2 months premature by emergency C-section. He was immediately sent 40 miles away to a Hospital more equipped to handle his problems. My Dr. kept me in the Hospital for 10 days because he KNEW that as soon as I left I would take the trip to go see my son. Even after 10 days he wanted me to stay in the town my son was in so I wouldn't make the trip back and forth every day. Despite many, many calls to Elders in the Congregations around there to see if a family could spare a bed for me at night (because we could not afford a room).....they all said NO. Even with the recent surgery and the distance I had to travel to see my son. My son died when he was 27 days old without me there because no one had enough love to spare a bed for me.

I would like to say thank you also for this thread because it confirms to me that this Organization is not full of loving people at it makes me glad I am no longer part of it.

Society's control over people's lives

i've been reading all the posts here and other websites, and i have been trying to figure out why the society/elders want control of people's lives.

they don't ask for contributions at the kingdom hall, and as a general rule, jw's aren't wealthy people, so what do you all think is the motivating factor behind the control issue?

Society's control over people's lives

I agree with Ranchette. I distinctly remember hearing at the meetings many times when they were comparing themselves (God's Organization) with the Churches of Christendom. They repeatedly pur other religions down that taught about Hellfire. They would go into a bit of an explanation of how they feltjthat Hellfire was taught and say something like:

"How happy we are that we are part of Jehovah's loving Organization where we learn we will live forever on earth without sickness, or pain, or..." etc.

Being the loyal dub at the time I would get a puffed up self-rightous attitude about that. It wasn't until much later, after I smartened up a bit, that I realised that what they were doing was the same thing as those Churches they were bashing. Instead of the threat of Eternal Damnation set before unrightous ones, as in other religions....the WTBS would always say we would have Eternal Death before us. Not only would they say that you will face Eternal Death but they would go on and make sure you knew the implications of that by telling you how you would be cut off from your family, or friends...FOREVER!!!

To me this is the same thing. Just the wording is different.

Who Have They Sold Redundant KH's Too?

the witnesses have obviously sold off lots of stock and fixtures over the years, as they replaced older, redundant technologies with new, including within this, buildings, kingdom halls and such like.. 'bernard' brought up the reminder in a reply post below, quoting his old kingdom hall as being sold to the mormon's.

frankly, this raised my eyebrows.. what else have they sold that we know of to people on the 'outside' that they would normally disagree with?

and how have these fresh funds been used, to what ends, if any specifically?.

A Desirable Bethel 'Palace Coup'

the moment is ripe for a 'palace coup' at bethel/paterson.. the organization is sinking into deepening trouble.

One line of thought could be that this is in line with what they have ingrained in every JW out there. Remember when we were in there, how many times did we hear that in the end that Jehovah's True Worshippers would be turned against? Is it possible that instead of trying to diffuse these situations they are sitting at their big long table trying to make it look like this is what was peophesied? I mean if you are backed in a corner wouldn't you yell out that this is what the Bible said would happen?

Legal Insurance

i think that at this point it may imperitive that many on this message board thinks about having legal insurance.

we all have so many things to make us angry, and possibly things that are things that could be taken up in court.

whether it be a suit due to our own situation or even to think about a class action suit..........it is something that each and everyone of us might consider.

I know that you can get legal insurance for $26/mo. I'm not sure what countries this is in though. I do know it is in the US.
