That is such a sad story.
I hope to God that I have proven to my son and my daughter that I love them unconditionally - and that I want them to be happy. For someone to kill themselves because they are gay.......how sad......what a loss of a potential for a beautiful life.

when people hear the name jehovah, they automatically think jehovah witnesses.
i know that in old catholic bibles, the word jehovah might be found or jahweh.
is it the jw's who came out with that name first or did other religions use it before the jw's?
Our church also uses the name Jehovah from time to time.....and we sing the song "Jehovah Jirah...". In fact, we had quite an interesting sermon a few months ago about the history of the name Jehovah, Yahweh, and "I AM".
I listen to church sermons on the radio from time to time (I do a lot of driving in my job) and I hear it on there too. So the JW's don't have the corner on the market........although they like to pretend they do.

Know what?..........It feels really good now that I decided to do it! I know that if my mom finds out that will be the final nail in the coffin and she'll never talk to me again - but I've thought about it a lot, and prayed about it a lot, and I am ready to take that risk. I think I would feel better knowing that people are being helped than I would be holding back just in hopes mom might actually someday accept me in spite of that religion. She made her decision - and I have made mine. And I feel so good!........relieved.......and excited.
Wish us luck - I'm hoping we get enough people to turn out - and I'm hoping to find some "guests" to come and talk to the group about exiting cults, etc.

i have met a number over the years, and they all seemed very normal, intelligent, balanced, loving people.
i've met a few obviously 'bogus' ones too.. my question is (atheists, agnostics, and god/bible basher please ignore and move on to another thread): what if there are genuinely anointed christians in jw's midst?
I also am convinced that only a relatively small number of persons will in fact receive the heavenly calling, to be corulers with Christ over the planet one day (those things are immutable truths for me, so for the sake of this discussion I don't want to engage in a specific discussion on the validity of these teachings or not, if you don't mind).

To answer your first question - yes - I have met a few anointed.
To answer your second question - You first need to realize that God does not exist in any man made religion. His Church exists in people who have accepted his son as their savior. It is a different plane of thought than what most people think of when they say "church". Those people ask Jesus into their heart and become the "body of Christ" - thus...annointed. These people don't all attend one church or are members of one religion - you will find them scattered all over in different areas. Religion is a man made attempt to explain God and set up rules for us to judge who is, and who is not acceptable. For some reason man always thinks he/she has to judge and decide who is accepted no matter how many times Jesus warned against this. But I'm getting off on a rabbit trail here...........so back to your question:

If they are GENUINELY anointed, I believe that the holy spirit would eventually lead them out of deception and into the "body of Christ" - that is, into a relationship with God and Jesus and an understanding that they need to do what they can to make this world a better place for everyone.
So what about religions? Well - most Christians who have accepted Jesus as their savior will want to find others who have the same relationship with Jesus - and will want to worship together. So most Christians will eventually find a church they feel comfortable at and will make friends there - but they will realize too that there is not one right "church" - rather, the "body of Christ" exists on a much larger scale than any one denomination.

I went to both extremes........at times I was a bad example..........then other times I was aux. pioneering and giving experiences on the district assembly platform. Go figure.....must be multiple personality hu?!
The truth is....I was trying really hard to be "good" but I just couldn't live up to it. I had a love for God and Jesus - but just couldn't tow the line on all the other stuff.

Right on Brummie.......I had nightmares for over 10 years after I was DF'd. But they're gone now.
