There are alot of younger GB memebers now, and with that I think it's possible that many of them just plain don't know anymore history than what's in the Proclaimers book. There has to be a few that kinda have an idea what happened when ones were removed in the 70s, but do they REALLY know what's in the old literature? Or what really happened during Rutherford's hostile takeover? Or stumbled upon some old packets of miracle wheat? Is it possible that many of them are just ignorant?

Beware of things to come!
by Hortenzie inthis is an excerpt from awake!
march 2011 page 22. it's an experience of jw who used to be a real shepherd and he is talking here about real sheep.
why is it reminding me of something and why does it give me shivers?:.

I just did some research on sheep herding and NO WHERE did I see this technique described as one to use on a stubborn sheep. Breaking a stubborn sheep's leg and resetting it was one technique to teach a sheep to depend on then follow the shepherd's direction. Can anyone that knows something about sheep herding comment on this?

Wow, the middle of that paragraph doesn't even fit the rest. The other ones he's all speaking from experiences with him and his uncle. This part talks about "the shepherd" in the third person. I think they added to this paragraph.

What made this so controversial?
by iamwhoiam inwhat was so controversial about this that it was left out of more than one manuscript?.
this is taken from john 8:1-11 of the nwt.
* manuscripts ?bsys omit verses 53 to chapter 8, verse 11, which read (with some variations in the various greek texts and versions) as follows:.

This is agreed by almost every scholar to be a spurious scripture. Read Bart Ehrman, he references this and others.

No Tape Recorders at Elder Schools? WTS Hanging Elders Out to Dry
by skeeter1 inelders are not allowed to bring tape recorders to elder school or elders-only type meetings.
elders can only take hand notes, usually inside the wide margins inside the elder's book.
i think the watch tower society is hanging the elders out to dry.. 1) being an elder is an important job, let's face it.

daringhart13, now if recordings WERE allowed, can you imagine if that little tidbit got out?

So I guess we're supposed to supress our God-given sense of Justice? Something definately smells. God's law given to Isreal put heavy judgement upon those that dealt poorly with widows and orphans. Should we think he'd feel much different about not giving justice to victims of child molestation?
