  wow, interesting!

  I knew the jesus myth was pretty well recycled, but didnt know about the laws. Not to argue, but if the hammurabi laws were written in 1760 bc. wouldnt the mosaic laws pre date them by a few thousand years?

  Im not a christian, but what makes you say that fundamentalist christians are dangerous? I think the USA is about 60% fundamentalist christian. Ive never been hurt by them.

  chicken crap or hog crap would probably have the most phosphate content. you should take a soil sample to your local fertilizer dealer and have them send it to a lab for an analysis. costs just a few bucks. if your soil is low in ph. you will need lime. the more fertilizer, or manure, applied to the soil the more ph. lowers.

  i am sorry i cannot be more specific in my requests, but i only have a vague idea what the articles said.. 1. does anyone remember an article saying it is ok. to vote if you think it is "prudent" to do so?

  Disfellowshipping smokers is an outrage!

  how does the society scripturally justify taking the ultra-harsh measure of disfellowshipping and shunning persons who merely enjoy smoking a few cigarettes a day?

  in what way is mild smoking a gross sin that is deserving of such a harsh punishment?

  how on earth does the society make the connection between the scriptural exhortation to 'cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit' (2 cor 7:1 & 2) to taking the extremely harsh measure of denying a smoker the right to any contact with their fellow congregation members, friends, and jw family?

  why not? what dont they try to crowd out of your life? anything that competes with the worship of the governing body is not acceptable. work, family, hobbies, life, whatever.

  i doubt that the crab blood is injected into every bag of intervenous med. maybe an amount of each med is removed from the bag and tested to verify the purity of a particular lot number. i may be wrong. am i missing something in the article?

  Assistance needed on issue of birthdays

  i am currently reviewing various doctrines of the wt.. would it be possible for this thread to focus completely on the issue of birthdays and avoid other subjects & also any digs at the wt over their current policy.. personally, i believe that birthdays are acceptable but i need concrete reasons / facts to counteract the arguments provided by the wt for their refusal to celebrate birthdays.. thanks .

  Prince and Lindsay Lohan Partying?

  just finished reading an article in the morning newspaper about lindsay lohan cheking herself into the wonderland centre for drug and alchohol rehab.. it is sad to see such a beautiful young person getting to need such services with so much of her life ahead.. but the part of the report that made me sit up and think was this, i quote........ "ms lohan was in hospital on january 3 for appendicitis but was seen out partying a couple of hours after she was discharged.. since, she has been seen out almost every night and on monday she attended prince's post golden-globes bash at the beverley wilshire hotel.

  a fellow party goer said she obviously was the worse for wear.".

  well i'm spewing over this and here are my questions then....... if prince is a jw what the hell is he doing organising a large function without the elders approval?.

  no. my story is a little different than most. they sort of did me a favor by knocking on my door. BUT, THE INTENT WAS THERE! that is what makes me angry. they would have been happy to enslave me and my wife ( who i helped escape) and any children we may produce. those old toothless bastards have really ruined some people. that is why i have a hard on for the a- holes. enough time has gone by since they introduced alot of their doctrine. the first leaders may have been sincere. but at this stage there are so many holes in their teachings that they have to KNOW that they are dead wrong. we can tell by their maneuvering that it is just ass covering time. if they really think they are being backed up by God they wouldnt flip flop on all the major doctrines. they would speak the "truth" boldly, and not make back door deals like the mexico/malawi fiasco or the different blood policies they have for certain countries. jeez! sorry for the rant. i guess you could say they have hurt me. they hurt my feelings. every time i see some poor dub child and know they have a lifetime of enslavement in front of them, it does hurt.
