Somewhat off the topic, but people need to start being concerned with themselves rather than others. No one is perfect, I would venture to guess especially the elders who would give you the trouble, but rather than improving themselves, they would make themselves seem better be belittling you behind your back.
Blue, your thoughtfulness and attitude on this procedure are incredible. The bottom line is to do what feels best to you, because I have noticed that a woman that feels good about herself tends to be a beautiful woman, those feelings show through!!!

Could anyone tell me how exactly Jehovah chose the WT society in 1919?

this teaching is so unique and singular to the jws and fascinates me greatly but i have yet to get any jw answer how this choosing actually happened and instead i'm left with the same feeling of confusion that i get when i ask how someone would know they were anointed.

how did this process of selecting a correct church occur, how did they know it would happen in 1919 if they weren't pre-selected already, how did they know it was going to happen (bit rough on all the other churches who clearly didn't get a chance to spruce themselves up for 1919) and once the votes were cast and jehovah made up his mind how did he inform the contestants of the results?

do the jws claim any kind of divine affirmation of their selection at all?

Thanks Blondie for bringing your perspective to the articles. My wife has not attended a meeting in quite some time, but when she did, your insight at least allowed me to be ready for her fervor when she got home and often helped me dull her excitement.
Having never been a member of the org myself, I do not understand how a woman can put up with the teachings of the organization, essentially making a woman a second class citizen. I think it made an impact on my wife when a while back when she had a 'study', the sister was so embarrased when I sat in cause she did not have a head covering and how it was really not acceptable for her to be leading a study with a man present, what a joke!!!!
This board is incredible and has provided me so much assistance and information and it is very difficult not being able to get online during the week and get the information I can use and need.

i took this opportunity take a copy of the calif. court case and attached a copy of the silent lambs response to the wbts pamphlet, to our small local news paper.. the guy there was really interested in what i told him.. although i have some doubts that he will print any of this in his paper.. however i am sure that he has connections to several people through the useof his paper in .

advertisements etc.

he mentioned fyi "for your information" as he read a part of it.. if it only gets to this guy and it is talked about with another, i am satisfied.. outoftheorg.

Yes it is a wonderful idea, would like to see something in our local paper about the jws other than pictures from their assemblies. In addition to newspapers, also plan on sending to local television stations, and maybe even the networks.

What Was the Role of the Prophets? --->please help pick this apart.

i asked a jw several questions via email ....this was the only question she has answered.. the first page talks about false doctrines.

do jehovah's witnesses feel that they are prophets?

the title of this is "the end of false religion is near" that sounds like a prophesy.. this is her answer.. whatwastheroleoftheprophets?.

Is there a press release available on this, I want to put together a package to forward to local media, hopefully with a press release, a copy of the ruling, a link to silent lambs amongst other information. If this can get publicized during this door to door campaign with the new kingdumb news, it would at least cause some who answer their doors to maybe ask a question or two to the jws.
Most people, myself included, know very little about the jws, this could make a lot of people start to think, cause the only other time I see anything about the jws in the local papers is when they get thier assembly press releases put in the paper. I was able to get the Hughes press release on blood in two of our local papers, but even though the blood issue is huge, EVERYONE should be disgusted with child abuse!!!! It may cause someone to think about who comes knocking on their doors, possibly even giving more momentum to those communities that have made it illegal for the jws to go door to door.
