Movie: The Truman Show = Jehovahs Witnesses? Anyone seen this movie?
by Trojan inby now, i realize there are a couple of good movies that help to understand the situation a jw finds himself in, once he finds out the truth about "the truth".
like: the village, the island, stepford wifes.
i find that these movies help me to understand the situation of being trapped in a cult and the mixed emotions about finding out and the courage and strenght needed to leave.

1935 and the sealing of the anointed class

furthermore, in direct conflict with 1 timothy 2, verses 5 and 6 the anointed class is seen as the mediators between jesus and the great crowd.
according to the theology of the wts, in 1914 jesus began ruling in 1914 and in 1918 the jws were selected as the true religion.

WTS Brooklyn properties for sale
by XBEHERE inanyone else hear the rumor that they are beginning to sell some of the residence buildings in brooklyn?
i heard from a reliable source that 2 of the residence bldgs are on the market now or will be very soon.
also was told that they plan to "layoff" 1000+ in brooklyn bethel by years end.

That is my question, how do they back up the 1935 date? The jws are very proud of their biblical basis for everything and they may have to manufacture some of the background to build it up, but they tend to at least give the vision to those who don't want to take the time to look into the background and do some research that all they teach is based on the bible.

The wts backs up the 1914 date with the Daniel prophecy beginning with the incorrect date for the fall of Jerusalem (as a defense when Russell used measurements from Giza to arrive at this date). I think that they have explained away their selection in 1918 with some theory, but how does the wts justify the sealing of the anointed class in 1935?
