The same pioneers would critiscise those who worked full time so as to be able to afford these very same things.

i suppose it is just a small thing but it highlights one of the things that really pisses me off about the jw religion.. after talking about some situation she comments:.

After talking about some situation she comments:

"I know it's always hard work in this system, totally rubbish. We're all in it together I guess."

I mean, what a way to think! To feel so disatisfied that you view life as 'hard work' or 'totally rubbish'. The reason that it annoys me is that it just rolls of the tongue with these people, as if it's a fact.

Well, I beg to differ! My wife has 2 beutiful healthy kids with anoher one on the way. A good measure of health. A hard working husband who loves & cares for his family. A lovely house with a fridge full of food. A nice family who supports her in everything she does. Pretty much everything you would ever want out of life & yet because they are drip fed the bullshit that they repeatedly hear at the kingdom hall, this is still not good enough. Life is still viewed as 'hard work' & 'totally rubbish'.

I mean FFS, get some perspective.

Maybe life is 'hard work' & 'totally rubbish' if you are a jehovahs witness. But don't put everyone is the same boat. Some of us cherish what we have & we enjoy our life.

Negative, negative, negative. Sums up that awful religion.

so if we cannot trust secular research, then we can definitely discard the date of 607 bce.

Spot on when it comes to all of these points.

I remember arguing with myself in my mind, at the point when I wasn't ready to exit the JW's. It was mental torture trying to go round & round in circles and knowing that there is no logical answer to these points. It became impossible to live the lifestyle of a JW when I knew in my heart that it was all wrong.

PS - the point about the Chinese children was something that went round & round in my mind. No matter how individuals tried to soften the matter or make it sound reasonable, the fact remained that I was worshiping a god that was going to literally slaughter billions of decent people. Men, women & children. It's hideous.

to show you how dumb and shallow my congregation is a one of our "deeper" sisters claimed in field services that "jehovah answers all my prayers...like last week i wanted a new skirt and shoes for field service but only had $20 dollars....and would you believe i found them!!!

now i for one though well, why didn't you pray or the oil pipe in the mexican gulf to dry up...or food for the poor in haiti.

other pioneers tell of vegetables falling off trucks just when they had nothing for dinner???

This sort of thing always really pissed me off.

It's worth remembering that all these experiences of people getting 'gifts' of £33.65 which came in the form of a gas rebate which was the exact amount needed to do a repair on their pissy little car are experiences of Jehovah actually deliberately 'stepping in' & 'taking action' on behalf of one of his people. You don't get any more direct than that.

So if he can do this sort of thing which enables some shithouse to go around banging on empty houses for 70 hours a month, why can't he 'step in' & help a poor little 6 year old who is being abused senseless by some sick paedophile in the congregation?

I didn't want to worship a god like that.

so here it is.. "many who today are members of the christian congregation can tell you that before learning of and adopting jehovah's righteous standards, they lived without moral restrain.

The theory that everyone outside the JW organisation are miserable must lead to a lot of conflict in the mind of the JW.

I know it's true here locally that our neighbours, worldly friends & family are all enjoying life. Working, making friends, taking care of family, going on holiday etc. On the other hand, the congregations of JW's are an utter mess. Lots of depression, in-fighting, lack of love, frustration etc, etc.

i really needed to find a place to write this as i don't believe i can talk with anyone else about my account, perhaps it is similar to a lot of yours.. last night for whatever reason i said i would go online and look up information on jws.

i have been raised as a jw all my life and baptized the last few years.

i looked at www.freeminds.org and www.sixscreensofthewatchtower.com and couldn't believe how easily the whole of my lifes teachings were refuted.. i can't stop my brain from running, bs just in regards to theology alone (1914, paradise earth, celebrations etc.

You'll get plenty of good advice so I won't bother adding.

Your situation sounds like you had a bit of a lightbulb moment. Beware that it will not be easy for to keep up a fascade in the org. I frankly don't know how anyone does it. I appreciate that people just have to do what they have to do though.
