I'm sure there's nothing in writing, but the fact that they are not allowed to associate with worldly people would keep them from doing anything with or for them. Some one else in here with more knowledge than me might be able to help you better? anyone?

Question about "good works" ??? ???
by Kristofer innot ever having been a jw, i was curious to know something.... are witnesses ever encouraged to do good works for the less fortunate?
(giving to the poor, working in a soup kitchen, helping the elderly, other volunteer work, etc..).
i know scripture states you will know believers by their "fruit".

dishonesty or abuse would be a deal breaker.
My ex judub was a compulsive liar and abused me every which way possible, I could go on, but I will spare you............

TV series&movies-CURSING!!!

do you think it is appropriate for children to be viewing comedies with cursing and sexual encounters?.
don't you think movies have more cursing even though they are rated "g"?.

That's actually mine to! and one that I will let my kids watch! But they know not to say bad words.

Gretchin, I never said I hate gays, isn't that putting words into my mouth? If that were the case, one of my very good friends "Scott" who is as gay as can be, would not have been in my house yesterday, how does that work?
I do turn off things I don't want to watch, I don't like watching hetro things on TV either. I think all that stuff is meant to kept behind closed doors. I don't even like seeing a man and a woman kissing when I'm walking down a street, aggain, just my opinion. I have no problem with people holding hands, even gays, doesn't bother me a bit.
Why are there so many people in here acting so defensive? Dimples threw in a joke! It's all good! dang!
