LOL!! It's always good to see when someone reaches down and owns their power! Wield your power!
a word of caution, however:
I have a VooDoo doll, with his picture on it. Haven't played with it for awhile. But he has been festering in my brain for over 2 years. I even bought my doll a motor cycle, for it to play with. Just like his. It's time to take it out of the package.
Be very very careful.
Love,

Did You Feel "Special" Being A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus ini know a lot of people that believe they are "better" because they're witnesses.
what about you?
?

no. I always felt quite embarrassed and still feel the tinge of color rise to my cheeks when the subject comes up among real people.

Why would God...
by Crooked Lumpy Vessel input us on this planet...giving us life with all its beauty.
flowers, children, relationships, clouds, trees, kittens...then.
tell us we are imperfect human beings and that there are invisible evil forces and demonic influences that are much greater and stronger than we are trying to sway us in the wrong direction.

What is the potter without the clay in which to manifest? What is the clay without the Magick of manifestation?
The gods need us as we need them. It is very much symbiotic.
I agree that hubris is uncalled for. However, reasonable questioning, reasoning is always in order. It is how we get to know the gods (who btw, are usually fashioned after us in any given time with the mythos we find ourselves in particular need of--this does not make them any less powerful, however)
Though I call on this god by different faces and names, the one people in this society generally call on is fashioned after the Jewish god and I found one of the most interesting concepts in Judaism when I studied with the rabbi's is the concept that bible-god welcomes questioning and actual arguing (sans hubris, of course, which all gods tend to frown upon because of our psychological need to have something worthy of respect and honor). They take the example of Abraham haggling with his god over the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The actual Hebrew denotes an argument or debate if you will.
So, yes, the clay can and must question the potter. Otherwise, even in the christian schema, worshippers are just grovelly too scared to tell you what they really think yes-men ----just automatons. and wow, where's the challenge in that? where's the real love? you can't even give an automaton a good smiting without feeling good about it ; )

Missing someone... badly
by daystar inbrigid took a weekend trip back to where she moved from to visit family.. i know it's selfish of me, but i miss her very, very badly.
i have never missed anyone so badly in my life, other than my son when he visits his mother.
and it's only been three days.. it's very lonely here without her.

Aaaaah, ((((sweety)))) You know I missed you too. It was as if you were right there in the car beside me...I'd see some beautiful sight like the rockies looming in the west after coming off the high plains and my immediate thought was, I would love to share that with my Daystar.
You must be such a close couple.
It's as if from the moment I actually laid eyes on him and we embraced (immediately), he was with me (even when he is not) and it had always been so. When we first met it was more like I was returning to him after a long journey of being apart and we are not so much getting to know each other anew, but old lovers rediscovering each other after a time apart.
and I just love him.

So glad you asked, because really, many of us here still need to talk about it. And oh it was loads and loads of fun!!
Born to be 40-somethings, as a sister friend of mine would say. No sense of true Self, instead sublimate your inner nature and model yourSelf after a 1940's mysogonystic, joyless bible salesman turned "Judge".
No real closeness to God--your god is a huge corporate, mean-spirited (jes lookin' for something to smite you over) god who is ever filtered and communicating to you through the Faithful and Discreet Slave.
The same stuff mentioned before. No love. No true friendships. Disconnection with the world around you. No celebrations
Aaaah good times, good times. But it makes you appreciate the world around you so much more once you are out. I liken myself to an immigrant to a new country. Everything seems wonderful and terrifying and new.
