12Should the society be sued for fraud?
by sleepy ini've posted a similiar subject before , but read yesturday that scientologists in france were sued for fraudulent preaching methods by the government (the article did not state what the fraud was) and fined.
the scientologist complained and said they were just practising their religion.. i love those french, they see straight through dodgy religions.. so should we try and sue the society , for say withholding vital information to new members about their past and other such things, and not being open and honest about what happens when you leave.?.
prehaps the french can try it first.

Where "live and let live" ends.
by D8TA ina question in a post and by an e-mail was sent to me regarding my "live and let live" life style that i attributed to myself, and something i live by.. to clear that up, i take each person i come in contact on an individual bases.. however, should such a person or organization come in to my area, punch my sister in the eye...then proceed to come to me and punch me in the eye.
"live and let live" pretty much goes out the window at that point.
that's a situation of "direct attack", and i just don't turn my cheek with that.. there are a few people on this board that i'm willing to discuss the situation that had happened to me this past friday.

There are a few people on this board that I'm willing to discuss the situation that had happened to me this past Friday. Unfortunately, bringing out the "details" on this public board (which IS monitored), could compromise the legal action I am pursuing as of now against the "elder", his wife as well as a possible case against the WTBTS.
Another "assumption" within the e-mail was; "You seem a person who has anger and rage."

I guess I have to attend the apostofest in August here in WA, so at least some people will actually "see and hear" the way I talk.
Best definition: I have a monotone way of speaking, mired with sarcasm, sprinkled with pop-culture references and very "colorful". I use animiated facial expressions ala-Little Rascals (cross my eyes, funny faces, sticking my tongue out---err, that's other then flirting with people with my tongue guage...ahem). My hand gestures remain in a small local area. I never "raise" my voice.
I guess after looking at my posts and getting my wifes opinion, it could come of as someone running around yelling in rage---like a chicken with their head cut off.
Ah well, the limits of technology when it comes to message boards, can often portray a person in a light that is completely opposite from themselves in the "real life".
The way I see it, in order to achieve victory over an adversary is to keep a cool, calm, and collect head. But to remain with a "firm" attitude, and keep eye contact. Anger and Rage is the spawn of fear.
In my experience, keeping low clear voice, using direct language, and keeping eye contact goes farther then yelling and pounding one's chest.
Even with my experience with the kids messing with the elderly couple at the park...I was contained. I used physical force in that situation, it was contained. A calm demeanor often yields an air of "seriousness" in a confrontation. It let's people know you are not "playing" around.
So, I guess I throw this out there for those wondering about these issues.

Where's your 'live and let live' attitude?
As of May 17, 2002 ... something has happened where the WTBTS deliberately crossed over a very PERSONAL line. When they did that, "live and let live" wen't out the window. They messed with my family.After all, the Watchtower is just a Good Ol' Fashioned American Cultlooking to exercise its 1st Amendment Rights, and to recruit new converts unimpeded.
Yet this society feels that "impeding" ones relationships with biological family members, thru inuendo and rumor, is okay. At this point, the first amendmant can kiss off. They can hide behind it, but there are other arenas to fight them in. This isn't a 1st amendment issue with me, this is personal.It almost sounds like some of you are out to DESTROY the Watchtower.
