This has been a pretty entertaining group to follow. They like to whitewash their image. Here is something saved from one of the previous editions.
"It would have be a lot more helpful if the Watchtower would communicate with us. Had they done this then perhaps we would be able to save many more lives in NYC, by making less mistakes and therefore losing less credibility".............
We now predict a terrorist Nuclear Bomb will hit the UN plaza in Midtown Manhattan on 2006Tishri10 (between Sundown Thursday October 5th and Sundown Friday October 6th)
Here are the mistakes we have made...
2006Iyyar21 (May 19/20) [7 days after 2006Iyyar14]
2006Iyyar28 (May 26/27) [7 days after first mistaken date]
2006Iyyar11 (June 8/9) [First day of the 2,000 pigs of Mark 5 incorrectly calculated]
2006Sivan12 (June 9/10) [First day of the 2,000 pigs of Mark 5 correctly calculated but misinterpreted]
2006Tammuz2-6 (June30-July4) [7th sabbath after 1st mistake/7th sabbath omitting 2006Sivan5/7th Sabbath lookout day]
2006Tammuz28/29 (July 25 - 27) [Assumed contest began on 911]
2006Ab3/4 (July 30 - August 1) [Assumed second 'day' of contest began when wheat went limit up in Chicago]
2006Ab8 (August 4/5) [Assumed second 'day' of contest began on non BLC day of 2006Adar28 so that 1750th day is sabbath]
2006Ab15 (August 11/12) [7th sabbath lookout period assuming 2006Tammuz2/3 and 2006Tammuz4-6 were separate sabbath mistakes]
2006Ab22 (August 18/19) [7th sabbath lookout period assuming 2006Tammuz2-6 and 2006Tammuz28/29 were separate sabbath mistakes]
2006Ab29 (August 25/26) [7th sabbath lookout period after first mistake, the entire sabbath month of 2006Tammuz as one sabbath lookout period]
2006Elul13/20/27 (September 8/9, 15/16, 22/23) [A sabbath after the 1750th day of the contest starting on 2001Tishri30 and before the end of Elul]
2006Elul30 (September 26th) [last 5 hours thereof in NYC, so that bomb went off in Elul EST but in Tishri BST]
"No nuclear bomb hit the UN on any of the above days. However these failure in prediction presented us with a larger chronological problems which we hope we have now fixed. One larger problem was that LWs claim to be the church of the Second New Covenant."

Kingdom Halls.....
by lavendar in.
can a witness go to any kingdom hall they want ....... or are they "assigned" to a certain one according to where they live??.
lavendar .

I really recoiled about the "assignment" thing. That because you lived in a certain area that meant you were automatically assigned to go the hall nearest you. They would assign every detail of your life, if they could so you wouldn't have to think, just react. Which would mean that every thought you had would be wrong unless it agreed with their assignment of the correct way to think. Reminds me of a Star Trek episode with those little cone-heads with their instuments of obedience. Correct thinking was rewarded. Incorrect was punished.

I'm with Lady Lee, the issue is a little more complex. There's only so much a person can do, and as far as the wts is concerned, it's never enough. In the process you lose your ability to think because we are all dependent upon one another to a certain extent. I read something the other day in VOL 6 p458 http://www.ctrussell.us/
...."without divine aid, mankind is powerless. A few make a vigorous struggle, and accomplish something; but none get free."
Went to a local tradition in these parts this past weekend that the churches sponsor in the winter known as lutefisk suppers. A Norwegian tradition. Haven't been in a church in a long time. How the truth, whatever you consider the truth to be, survived the cathaholic inquisition, is mind numbing. That so many here know that you can't go back to the church world that has no clue is obvious. You can't go back to the dubs obviously either. Does that make you lazy? No. There's an old addage that you need to learn from the mistakes of others because you can't live long enough to make them all yourself, and in most cases you haven't got the time or the resources to investigate every philosophical/religious doctrine out there. So it comes down to a matter of trust. The jw's gained your trust. They proved most of what you understood to be untrue. But now that you've either been kicked out or left on your own, OR looking for a hole in fence, there's no place else to go, except the world and it's materialistic/aetheistic/spiritistic mindset, that leads nowhere. I even heard Oprah has a new deal for those who reject scripture.

BUT IF YOU'RE NOT INTO ALL THAT THEN MAYBE THE FOLLOWING MIGHT GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO THINKK ABOUT
thou earnest not to thy place by accident,
it is the very place I meant for thee.
Have you asked to be made humble ? See then,
I have put you in the very place where this lesson is taught,
your surroundings and companions are only working out My will.
Are you in money difficulties ? Is it hard to make both ends meet ?
THIS THING IS FROM ME, for I am your purse bearer,
and would have you draw from and depend upon Me.
My supplies are limitless. {Phil. 4; to.) I would have you prove My promises.
Let it not be said of you in this thing ye "did not believe the Lord your God."' (Deut. 1; 33)
Are you passing through a night of sorrow THIS THING IS FROM ME.
Jesus was the Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
I have let earthly comforters fail you that by turning to Me
you may obtain everlasting consolation,[1 Thcss. 2; 16, 17].
Has some friend disappointed you ? One to whom you opened out your heart ?
THIS THING IS FROM ME.
I have allowed this disappointment to come, that you may learn that—
"The best Friend to have is Jesus, He will hear you when you call,
He will keep you lest you fall, The best Friend to have is Jesus" I want to be your confidant.
Has someone repeated things about you that are untrue ?
Leave them to Me and draw closer unto Me, thy Shelter,
out of reach of the strife of tongues, for,
"I will bring forth thy righteousness as the light and thy judgment as the noonday." {Psa. 37; 6'.
Have your plans been all upset ? Are you bowed down and weary ?
THIS THING IS FROM ME.
You made your plans and then came asking Me to bless them,
but I would have you let-Me plan for you, and then take the responsibility,
for this thing is too heavy for thee.
Thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
{Exodus 18; 18). You are only an instrument.
Have you longed to do some great work for Me ?
and instead been laid aside on a bed of pain and weakness ?
THIS THING IS FROM ME,
I could not get your attention in your busy days,
and I want to teach you some of My deepest lessons. They also serve who only stand and wait.
I want you to learn to sing—"
I am not eager, bold and strong, All that is past. I am ready—not to do, At last—at last."
Some of My greatest workers are those shut out from active service,
that they may learn to wield the weapon of all-prayer.
Are you suddenly called upon to occupy a difficult and responsible position?
Launch out on Me.
I am trusting you with the possession of difficulties
and for this thing the Lord thy God shall bless thee
in all thy works and in all that thou puttest thy hands unto.
(Deut. 15: 10;. Remember the pot of Holy Oil—
every interruption that would make you impatient, every word that pains you,
every revelation of your own weakness, be anointed with it. Interruptions are Divine instructions, the sting will go as you learn to see ME IN ALL THINGS.

jehovah has evidently made sure that we will have anointed christians amoung us all through the final days of this system of things until the destruction of "babylon the great.

Whenever they start out with lines like "It seems, however," or "It is likely that," can't you just imagine the witlesses burning up the phone lines and whispering among themselves that a new flash of brilliance has occurred, when all it is is pure speculation or wt-speak for the fact that they have been teaching in error. You see the mind control operating in full-filter mode where nothing bad can come from the mythological fds. Only new profound insights from God, although this is troubling to them since the fds isn't supposed to be inspired. So they then come up with some plausible nonsense to make it all work out in their heads, which doesn't have to be provided with the statements like, "It seems that....."

Not interested in marriage/romance?
by LtCmd.Lore inokay, so the site is full of people talking about their husbands, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, ex-wives, ex-husbands, ex-girlfriends and ex-boyfriends, childhood crushes, current crushes, future crushes, favorite positions, etc.. .
by the very nature of rejecting marriage, there's very rarely an occasion to voice our disinterest in romance.
we just kind of sit their silently while everyone else talks about their sexual and romantic preferences.. i'm sure i'm not the only one here, so how about it?

The reality is that men live longer with women and women live longer without men. Check out the nursing home scene. We all have to go sooner or later. I'm glad I'm going sooner. Have fun girls. It's the price you pay for independence.

Clean and Unclean Meats: What Does the Bible Teach?
Are all kinds of animal flesh suitable for food? Did God design certain animals to be eaten and others not to be eaten? Are Christians free to eat any kind of food, ignoring the instructions of the Bible? -
