all in the family is one of the very best series, in my opinion.. when i see re-runs of the andy griffith show, i smile.
when i was a kid, i never really appreciated don knotts and the gang as much as i do now.. taxi was another favorite.
hill street blues was great.
X-Files!!!
MST3K
Black Adder
Many you guys have mentioned!
I liked the Waltons, it's the way life should be..........
do ya'll all realize that in the south we eat dressing and not stuffing?
these are two different things.. i hate stuffing!
i used to have to eat it when my ex-husband's grandmother cooked it.
And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Turkey. Then shalt thou count to three stalks of celery, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Oysters shalt thou not count, neither count thou rolls, excepting that thou then proceed to sourdough. Eggs are right out. Once the onions and herbs, being the flavor, be added, then stuffest thou thy Holy Turkey of Antioch and hurl towards thy guests, who, being hungry in my sight, shall devour it.

Now why does that sound familiar.......................
there were some postings in the jwd recent past that asked if while an active witling was thanksgiving dinner served on or around the worldly holiday.
i have been thinking about the subject off and on as the pavo day draws near, now i know why.
my cell phone rang while i was doing laundry and checking for random kleenex in the pockets (thanks bem and misanthropic).
Turkey and dressing when served along with pumpkin pie, for a group is Satan's Turkish Delight. Very wordly ^.^

I have found that if I tell them I was a JW, and start explaining why I think it's garbage, they "put me on the list" and I don't have to deal with them anymore.
I used to feel that I had no more right to try to change their minds than they had to change mine, but that got old real fast when they kept coming. Sending bigger guns every time. One day a visiting CO came back with some kids for the second time on a Sunday morning, and I finally started spewing all my thoughts on the subject. He got pissed and pointed his finger at me and said "Ma'am, YOU HAVE NO HOPE!" I told him to get off my property before I called the cops. Never got bothered again. :-)

Huh, we always called stuffing, even if it was in the pan. I suppose dressing would be the correct term. My MIL calls it "Filling". She from Pennsylvania Dutch country.
I don't really measure when I cook, but my stuffing/dressing is yummy.
Cornbread, french bread, celery, leeks, onions, bit of sausage, apples, pecans, sometimes dried cranberries, chicken broth, herbs and seasonings.
Speaking of which, I need to get that cornbread in the oven!
i went and saw the niner's get beaten by the darn rams today.
grrrrrrr.
anyway, i don't remember a single bit of sports talk when i was growing up jw.
By the way (Dinah)....
Wow, I got the wrong person there, sorry Dinah. It was someone else with a cat avatar :-)
my sister was recently disfellowshipped and she told me that she was eating in a restaurant yesterday when the elder that disfellowshipped her was seated at the table next to her.
of course they would not breathe a word to her.
but her son (4 years old) had kept saying hello over and over to the elder and his wife and they both refused to acknowledge him, smile of even say hello back.
This isn't even normal human behavior! They're so darn twisted with fear and confusion, they don't even have human responses anymore!!

How funny, my family used to say "well everyone has that day off, and turkey is on sale"
