if what jehover's witnesses teach is true then there must be some sort of massive world wide conspiracy of religious leaders from all faiths and religions directed against the watchtower society.
there must literally be some sort of body of religious leaders who meet on a regular basis and say: "yes, we know the watchtower society has the truth, but it is up to us to lie to and deceive the six billion people on the earth into believing what *we* teach.".
one of my favorite ways of cornering a jehover's witness is by asking him point blank if he really, seriously, believes this.
Coincidentally I just received my new CD that included Kingdom News and printed that exact issue to read….and then you post it.

We also know that the WTS believes if people read the WT literature they will come to the wrong conclusions. People require someone to sit with them and read every paragraph of a WT book to make sure they understand the book in the right way.
I agree that the JWs' door-to-door preaching work serves multiple purposes....(check out counterattitudinal advocacy) but it also is necessary considering the complexity of the message (check out two-step flow hypothesis).

jim howard was a psychiatrist who became a jw.
he was from a congregation near mine here in vermont, and i knew him long before he was invited to become the physician at bethel.
he had a lovely wife and a terrific young teenaged daughter at the time.
I remember him as well.
Once I dropped something very heavy on my toe...the toe started to swell and hurt a lot.
The good doctor heated a paper clip and made a hole in my toenail, thus relieving the pressure.
He knew he had reached the other side of the toenail when I sat up screaming as the hot paper clip touched the skin under my nail.
I'm not certain who the procedure made more uncomfortable...Dr. Howard or me. J
He really was a great guy. A gentle, caring man.
