The terrible job that Witnesses do at the booths has been reported here alot. Surely, the elders realize that their followers are not being productive. Shouldn't the elders be out there spying on the witness carts, and then giving the followers a critique for their actual service? Or, shouldn't the WTS come out with an article on this? Really fire the JWs up to perform their duties!

sold ducks today opposite JW cart
by nugget intoday my husband and i sold plastic ducks for the annual duck racing fund raising event opposite a jw cart.
in the 2hour period we sold over a 100 ducks putting our jw training to good use proactively approaching people, overcoming objections and generally wishing people success.
cantleave went round the local businesses selling to the shops and generally was received positively.

Mormon woman, Kate Kelly, about to be excommunicated
by designs inthe mormon leaders in virginia are deciding whether to excommunicate kate kelly for pushing for equal rights for mormon women in the church.
she wants to remain a mormon whatever the outcome of the hearing.. 800-1000 mormons held a vigil in support of kate.. the group ordain women, mormons who want change in their church structure, are active in 17 countries pushing the male dominated leaders to make this important change.. kate kelly is herself an international human rights lawyer.. church leaders site jesus only choosing men in leadership positions as their foundational support.. those interviewed at the vigil said they want an atmosphere where they can at least have conversations openly about changes they would like to see made in the church..

I can't help but wondering if the Mormons at the vigil are wearing Mormon underwear?
The Mormons better get their people under control! Time for the Mormon elders to squash this dissodence by excommunicating ALL who attended that vigil.

What is the JW Mindset?
by losingit inis it based on gullibility, naivete, the ability to suspend all logic and reason in order to hold onto fantasized "realities" of a paradise earth where all humanity will be perfect, where all wars and violence will cease?
is it a personal preponderance to the extreme-- whether it be in judgmentalism, cruelty, rigidity, negativity, and/ or righteousness that lends itself to extreme closemindedness and shortsightedness?.

Ipads at church? Here's a cool church in Atlanta, Georgia that uses technology and drama like no other. North Pointe's iband! This church is sooo cool, that other churches of all different types come to visit it (in church buses too) to spend the week there learning the technology that is used. Great messages and sermons too. If I were to be a "Christian", this would be the one!
So, is the use of ipads at the KH as cool as North Pointe?

The world is dealing with religious extremists. Both the JWs and Islam share alot of similarities. They both follow the BITE model of a high control religion. While we may think that Islamic terrorists are extreme, we would really welcome a show about an Islamic terrorist who reformed. Most worldly people have a view of JWs as being strange folks, but most seem intersted to talk with me about my experience within the JWs and leaving. When I've spoken publicly, I get held afterwords for about an hour to field people's questions. So, don't look at the media as being all bad. Present yourself rationally, and demand to see the final cut before you give them authorization to use your part. Practice before you talk, and stick to about 3 talking points.

Love to see a psychologist profile this bloke! He thinks the girls wanted his touches, the parents consented to it, and that he shouldn't be questioned about it. A very manic/bipolar/grandious personality at work here! I'd love to be a mosquito on that jury's wall.
Yes, there likely was a coverup. I was told twice to "keep quiet" about incest I knew about, and not rat out the offending two men. That's how the JW roll. Cover up, what doesn't make Jehovah proud.

A former Jehovah's Witness elder today denied massaging half-naked schoolgirls because he knew his church would "cover up" the allegations due to his position.
Devoted churchgoer Mark Sewell rejected suggestions his seniority in the Barry congregation meant allegations of child abuse would be "swept under the carpet".
The businessman, 53, denies 10 historic sex charges against girls and women in a period spanning more than eight years.
During cross-examination by prosecutor Sarah Waters it was put to the defendant that he "took the risk" of massaging topless schoolgirls because he believed his standing in the church would spare him from allegations of wrongdoing.
Ms Waters said: "What I'm suggesting, Mr Sewell, is that it was a cover-up and no-one was allowed to talk about it."
Greying Sewell, wearing a navy suit over white shirt and patterned blue and yellow tie, told Merthyr Crown Court: "Not at all, no."
Ms Waters said: "You knew, because of your position in the congregation, this could be swept under the carpet."
The former Butlins holiday camp driver replied: "No."
The court had earlier heard claims Sewell indecently assaulted a young girl by giving her massages in his bedroom while she was not wearing a bra.
A witness in the case also claimed she had been given a topless massage by Sewell while she was a teenager, though none of the charges relate to that claim.
Referring to the alleged victim, Sewell claimed the girl's parents "always knew" what was going on.
"They were the ones that didn't mind it being done," he added.
Ms Waters put it to the heavily-built defendant that he had "instigated" the massages.
"That's totally incorrect," he replied, telling the court there was "nothing sinister in it".
Ms Waters asked: "You bullied them in to agreeing to have a massage, didn't you, when they didn't really want one?"
Sewell told the court: "I don't recall ever bullying anyone."
Ms Waters also asked the defendant whether he "got a sexual thrill out of seeing those young girls' half-naked bodies".
He said: "Not at all."
She continued: "They weren't asking for massages were they? You were doing it for your own titillation weren't you?"
Father-of-three Sewell replied: "No, definitely not."
The defendant said he had "certainly" not raped a woman in his own home in an attack which allegedly left her pregnant, while he also denied a claim he indecently assaulted another woman by pressing his groin against her backside.
He admitted asking the woman he is alleged to have pressed himself against to sit on his lap or give him a kiss but said this was always done in a "jocular" way.
"Sometimes I wish I was stuck in a box and didn't come out and talk to anyone - then I wouldn't be here," he told the four men and eight women of the jury.
Ms Waters asked the defendant: "These allegations, Mr Sewell, have all come out of four separate people because those four separate people - in various means and ways - you sexually abused them, didn't you?"
Sewell answered: "Incorrect."
He added: "Those stories have got larger and larger until we are standing here today."
The court had earlier heard how respected Jehovah’s Witness Sewell used his “position of power” as an elder in the congregation to “exploit and abuse” women and children.
Between 1987 and 1995 Sewell is alleged to have abused two young girls and also raped a woman, all of whom were fellow Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is also accused of indecently assaulting another woman more than 10 years his junior.
Sewell, of Porthkerry Road in Barry, denies nine counts of indecent assault and a single count of rape.
Judge Richard Twomlow earlier directed the jury to find him not guilty of two other counts of indecent assault, which he had also denied.
The case has now been adjourned until Monday.

I don't like the harshness. You have to remember that there is a person Rick Fearon. You may think he's cookie, off the wall, over the top, done some silly things, disagree with his choices, etc. But, to cut him down with 'Elmer Fudd' type comments is low class. Again, there is a person. He could be right about this tv show. Or, he could be wrong. e-mail the woman at the show and be done with it. There's no value in kicking a dead dog, unless you like to be known for kicking a dead dog.
