Thanks everyone. This gives me the personal side, it will greatly help.
I appreciate your sharing.
i am working on my school assignment and i have a couple of questions regarding helpful activities for individuals with bipolar disorder.
i don't have any personal experience with the disease, does anyone have any knowledge or family members that have had to live with this?
i have done some research but i can't find any information that relates to 'daily activities' that may help an individual.

Hello everyone. I am referring to activities and goals that can help a person through a day and make life more enjoyable, this is in addition to medication. Does anyone mind sharing? (ie. taking a college class, a pottery class, walking, exercise, etc)
By the way after much hard work I have been accepted into the college program that I wanted. I am being inducted into the International Honors Society and I am well on my way to becoming the professional I have always dreamed of. I appreciate everyone's support in this forum and the encouragement I have received.
Thanks
this is my first post and might be my only post, not sure.
i've chosen to "come out" for a moment just to talk about the 30 minute change in the public talk on sundays.
my father and brother are both elders, this change was a blow to them they enjoy giving encouraging public talks to the friends.
Welcome to the board.
I know exactly how you feel. I understand the sick feeling in the pit of your stomach, you don't understand what is going on or why things are changing. Things shouldn't change, these changes affect the very universe that we wrapped ourselves up in so tightly, that comfortable world that we were raised in. It is disconcerting to see these things initially and scary to explore the reasons but I encourage you to delve in and find truth. This board is here for you and they provide a lot of support in times of need.
There is life outside of the congregation and it is has been good. Be courageous and live.
a friend just said that disfellowshipping is no longer practiced due to legalities, does anyone know if this true?

haven't spoken to 'family' for a long time but we did get a letter from mom reminding us when the memorial was.
the date was underlined.
there's no way we're going but if anyone has any experiences to share - please do so.
My long lost Aunt sent me a letter with an invitation, my mom left an invitation at my house and a sister called and left a message on my phone. You can't slide away quietly or gracefully, the sad thing is I feel terrible for not going. I guess after doing something for 32 years it is hard to just stop, I feel like replacing one tradition with another. I am sure with time it will get easier, this was my first 'on purpose' missed memorial. Next year should be better.

Perhaps I am paranoid but my mind automatically thinks that something is fishy. They have even posted art of the wild beast which looks like depictions we are already familiar with in the Revelation book, also one article devoted a whole section to bashing the Catholic faith.
And I thought the JW's were the only true religion, can you imagine both of these faiths meeting at the door:
"No we are the truth!'
"No we are, we had it first!"
We had the Watchtower first"
" So ours is better"
I imagine it would be very entertaining.

Anyway I thought it was interesting and so tried to find some background history on them. I can't find anything, has anyone ever heard of this group? Their magazine even has its own version of the young people ask article, scary.
Anyway just wondered
well, you get the point.
my brothers and their wives stopped speaking to me back in august, everything hit the fan.
my parents just returned from a visit and my mom brought me something from my sister-n-law, very weird.
so i sent her a thank you card and after a few weeks she responds with a short note resembling this:.
You are so right. I am just frustrated and it is my first inclination to send something straight back and stand up for myself.
Better to sleep on it, goodness knows my response will spread like wild fire.

1 John 4:1
1 John 4:1 states: Beloved ones do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
I want to say:
Nice to hear from you. I couldn't help but notice the scripture that you included and I couldn't agree more. It is so true that there are those that wish to lead us astray and that False Prophets endeavor to pull us from truth. I then I want to slam her for being misled by false prophets
Please note the next verses to get the full meaning of the text:
2. you gain the knowledge of the inspired expression fromGod by this. Every inspired expression that confesses Jesus Christ as having come in the flesh originates with God, 3 buy every inspired expression that does not confess Jesus does not originate with God. furthermore this is the Antichrists (inspired expression) which you have heard was coming, and now it is already in the world. . I went on Wikpedia and pulled up this definition: This passage speaks of the Antichrist and Antichrist is translated from the Greek a?t????st?? antĂkhristos, which literally means "opposite of Christ". A broader meaning is "in place of Christ". Therefore, antichrist means opposed to Christ by being in the place of Christ. The term itself appears 5 times in 1 John and 2 John of the New Testament--once in plural form and 4 times in the singular. You will be relieved to know that we don't fall into this category, we do not oppose Christ. So I am trying to compose an answer that is pointed without being nasty. Does anyone have any suggestions or points that can be included, something that will make her think or stick in her head.
