"Little Flock" as meant in 1881 by Rusell?
by TheListener incan someone please help me with some old literature references about what exactly the society (russell) meant when he referred to the little flock in the early 1880s.. from my memory they thought that there would be two classes, the little flock, who spearheaded and performed the preaching work; and the bigger flock, who may have been in christendom's churches but had right hearts.
both flocks were going to heaven but the little flock would be co-rulers with jesus..
any quotes to back that up, or that show it's wrong??

I wish I studied their history
by Woodsman inif i had i would have noticed what i do now.
for over 40 years, 1874-1914 and beyond the wts claimed that there was a time of trouble like the world had never seen before going on.
this was to be a terrible time leading up to armageddon in 1914. bible students used to write to russell and ask if his calculations were correct because they couldn't imagine the world going on much longer.

Russell's prophetic framework
by Doug Mason ini do not believe ctr expected the end of the gentile times would usher in an era of war and strife.
his prophetic framework (see below) focused on events leading up to october 1914 (although he was quite prepared to move the end to october 1915).
his framework started with the end of the millennium, christs presence, closing of the high calling, time of trouble, probable translation to heaven in 1910, with the end of the gentile times ushering in universal peace under the jews.

Where is the historical evidence of Gentile Times Reconsidered on the web?
by stev ini was talking to someone about the book the gentile times reconsidered by carl olaf jonsson, and the historical evidence about the 70 years that is presented there.
i had studied the book years ago, and made a timetable myself and became convinced.
my friend would like to see the evidence for himself so he can he make up his own mind.

fanciful men who are frequently predicting the time of the end,
by candidlynuts inhas this article been posted yet?
isaac newton 300 years ago predicting the worlds end at 2060 or there about.. what this does for me is add weight to the idea that every generation has looked for the end in their time.
the jw's are just more in a long line of end timers.
