the stories that somehow show the witnesses or their teachings in a good light but always seem to contain elements that would seem preposterous to most people.
UL also seem to be more prevalent in groups that are somewhat closed to the outside, and those which look at the world in an us-vs-them way. The society is both of those, in spades.
Since leaving the organization, my BS detector is on a hair-trigger setting, and I demand proof of almost anything I am told. It is also interesting to note how easily people can get riled if you question their tall tale in any way, no matter how little proof they may have for it themselves.

It is no different than the now-debunked argument that “Earth is at exactly the right position relative to the Sun to sustain life. Any closer or further away, and life could not exist.” Recent discoveries of life forms thriving in the hot undersea springs, in far hotter conditions than surface life could survive, show that life is vibrant and adaptable.

I received a subset of that list a few days ago from a friend. They are very funny indeed.
The only thing is, they were hardly ad-libed. All of the celebs on that show received their questions beforehand, and they were all very carefully written to serve as setups for their responses. It didn't affect the outcome of the show since the players were not involved, but it was far more scripted than people realize.

Can you supply a few more details please?
You mentioned that the Moody folks wrote to the society asking for this debate. Do you know when that was?
Also, when did the society send this list to them in reply?
Might I also ask how you learned about this? I don't mean to imply that it is something you made up, but I wonder if it may have a bit of Urban Legend to it. If it made the rounds a few times within the society before you received it, the story may have been embellished a bit.
Also, what was the purpose of this list of questions? Was the Society saying that unless the other folks could answer these questions "correctly" they would not debate them, which of course would never be the case, or were they saying that this was a list of points that they would be willing to discuss during a debate if it were to be held, which seems much more reasonable (and less likely).
