  Friends we are too unbalanced.

  well sometimes we are.. look we have the knowledge and experience to help a lot of people.must of us have one time been jw's and understand how many think.so lets not put them off by being too negative.. when we were witnesses most of us were quite happy .

  we tried to be good people , to put into practise principles that many people think are good.

  we did this sometimes even when we didn't want to , because we thought god would hold us accountable and because we cared for people .

  I was the first to reply to your post yesterday afternoon.
  I said I agreed with what you said. At the time I thought that you were talking about witnessess as people and not the organization. That is the part I agree with.

  I agree that the people for the most part have good intentions. I personally know some people who were helped by coming into the organization. They actually became better persons. That is the part I agree with.

  When it comes to the organization I agree with Billygoat, Englishman and the rest. I am so glad I was able to see the need to get out.

  They shun you--Do you love them?

  for all who have, are, or will be shunned (which should pretty much be all of us), do you still have a deep love for those who now shun you...now, not familial love, but an active love that yearns for that person's companionship?.

  i have several regrets; one of them is the friends that i've lost.

  you will love this from wol- the (* km has told all jw not to put up any sites since you don't know who you are dealing with the slave has spoken but the rank and file jw doesn't want to be obedient to the slave.

  so they struggle as to how to be disobedient to the slave.

  their comments reveal the sick mindset of the jw in action as they try to decide how to setup a forum.

  My question is "What are they afraid of?"
  Actually when you think about it there really is NO WAY they can keep people out unless they hide the whole forum from everyone including themselves. Then what use would a forum be?

  Reasons to Quit

  -some of you might recognize that caption as the title to one of merle and willie's biggest hits but this is not about drugs and alcohol but about something many of us here hold in common.. i have read many reasons stated here for those who have left the organization either formally (through df'ing or da'ing) and those that are still technically in but mentally out.

  some (quite a few as i expected) have left to pursue lifestyles inconsistent with teachings which they evidently once held dear (they were questioned about those beliefs prior to baptism) but have now abandoned.

  that reasoning is absurd but it makes good sense to the rank and file.

  The three reasons we leave the "Truth"

  seems to me there are mainly three roads most of us have taken.

  1.we did something "wrong" and were disfellowshipped and after felt able to look at the society in a different light.. 2.we didn't like the "truth" and were looking for a way out.. 3.we wanted it to be the truth but were overcome by the mountain of evidence against it.. which is the most common i wonder.. also do our motives play a large part in how we deal with information criticising the org.. without a reason to act information seems useless.. for instance if a person feels he has nothing to gain by leaving the org will he read different things into the same info as us?.

  i think so and that all who leave must have a reason to do so, something to gain.. this does not make their reasoning wrong or prove they we are looking for just excuse.. but is a normal way in which humans deals with information.. two humans can have the same information but if they want or desire different things they may use the information differently.. maybe thats wht so many say "where else is there to go?

  Number 3 for me too.

  I was suckered in and I am very bitter about it. You can probably tell from some of my posts. I am sure the bitterness comes through but I am working on it and trying to get over it. This forum has helped me a lot in that respect.

  I have been thinking a lot lately about why people stay in. I think It all comes down to what Carey Barber had to say about how he was able to make it through 78 years of full time service.

  Finally, Brother Carey Barber was mentioned, who is now 96 years of age and has been faithful in full time service for 78 years of his life. When asked how he accomplished this, he said "I never let anything bother me. Next thing you know, 78 years passed by."

  They just don't let anything bother them. No matter what facts are presented to them.

  Legal takeover and Dismantling of the WT Possible?

  the events of the last couple weeks with regard to the un scandal got me thinking that the time climate is increasingly right for the legal takeover and dismantling of the wt.. i know that is a crazy thought, but could it somehow be possible?

  now that the gb resigned from their posts, could a rutherford-style takeover happen?.

  the un scandal signifies utter betrayal of the membership.

  2nd and 3rd responses to my UN Letters

  the second response came from a couple that were good friends in my congregation.. the response was simply my unopened letter returned to me.

  remember im not df or dad so someone must have warned them not to open any thing from me.. now for the 3rd and more dramatic response!

  it comes from an old time family friend on my husbands side.. i tell you, i still see the bridge burning on this one!.

  You have to remember what Jehovah's Witnesses are taught.
  Here are some of the quotes that came out of the special meeting at the pontiac silverdome dome last week.

  Jehovah's Witnesses today should expect tribulation, in our ministry and personal lives, because Satan hates us and wants to destroy us.

  Satan has used and continues to use frontal attacks, including outright persecution.

  Another form of persecution is ridicule or verbal attacks. A past example of this mentioned was Ishmael mocking Isaac. Today we may be ridiculed.

  We have all been waiting, and some of us for many decades, for the new heavens and earth.

  and this is because some of us still need time to make changes or adjustments in our lives.

  We can now smell in the air the end of this system of things. Action on a global scale is about to happen, and billions of people will be gone in a swift fashion, yet those on Jehovah's side will escape.

  There are reports around the world acknowledging that there is no one like us. We are so peaceable, policeman at our conventions don't know what to do with themselves, because we are sheeplike, meek and humble.

  The difference between Jehovah's people and the world is evident (Mal.3:18) and the gulf is widening.

  These are the kinds of things that Jehovah's Witnesses hear on a daily basis.

  I know that my wife will not listen to anything I have to say about the WT and the UN.

  I took her to the UN site and showed her the whole nine yards.
  She has seen the Fax from Paul Hoeffel, Chief of the DPI section

  She says that she does not care about that. She says that she to remain faithful till the end.

  I have come to the conclusion that there are many just like her out there. I plan to just leave it alone from here on out when it comes to telling people that are still in.

  just got this e mail describing special meeting from pro-jw stance...song 155, opening prayer brother sam hurd (governing body).

  brother hurd commented on the privilege of being at this special meeting, and that the governing body wished that the provision could have been made for all publishers, but it was simply not possible.. .
