Last funeral I went to for an elder (about two years ago) they didn't keep to this outline.
It was very personalised.
can someone please send me a link to the outline for the funeral talk?i'm on my cell phone and having trouble using the search function.

so i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.
''The fact that nobody has gone back.''
Five more times.
All that secrecy and hoaxing another five times?
it seems like there has not been as much discussion here about the rc testimony on day 6 (4th august) as there has been about previous days.
i was quite surprised by rodney spinks' testimony, which was a marked contrast to the bungling and inarticulate testimony of the elders that appeared before him.
spinks seemed reasonably co-operative, and a lot more willing to concede points than anyone else has been.
''Spinks seemed reasonably co-operative, and a lot more willing to concede points than anyone else has been''
That's because he is in a position of authority and can bend the rules to suit.
The elders couldn't concede because they were not allowed to concede anything otherwise they'd be going against those in authority of them, i.e. people like Stinks.
during the week i was able to download some of the transcripts of the proceedings direct from .

much has already been written about dr monica applewhite, the expert witness hired by the jw organization.
her job was to provide "expert" testimony to the australian commission of inquiry into jehovsh's witnesses' policies and practices on child sexual abuse.
astonishingly, dr applewhite was unprepared for the inquiry lawyers' questions.
Mephis,
''But her reports have fed the JW view of themselves. That they are different, that they are God's chosen organisation, that they do everything better than anyone else. For them, that's the point they are defending. They see everything as 'one bad apple' or 'a failure of parents'. They are absolutely blind to the concept that their religious practices, beliefs and formal procedures create the climate where not only can abuse continue unchecked, but which may also contribute to abuse happening in the first place.''
Very well put.
"mental wondering in the wilderness"... uh oh.... it's a long post from snakes.... lol.
yep... i think that is the best way to describe where i am at in life right now.
if you have read my past posts (mostly in the private section) you know some of my history as a life-long (now former) witness.. i have been away from the jw religion, for all intents and purposes, since dec. 06, though it was not until sept 07 that i stopped attending meetings.
Hi.
I remember when you were Sankes.

In June, the High Court ruled that the Jehovah's Witnesses organisation was liable for sexual abuse committed by one of its members.
The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain - to give the group its official name - had failed to take adequate safeguarding steps when senior members of the organisation were aware that a fellow Witness was a known paedophile.
It was the first civil case in the UK of historical sexual abuse brought against the Christian-based religious movement.
The BBC's Religious Affairs Correspondent, Caroline Wyatt, explores the implications of the Court's decision and investigates the child safeguarding policies of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
The Report hears from former Witnesses who have suffered abuse and who claim that rather than protecting children, the Society provides a 'paedophile's paradise' that encourages allegations of abuse to be dealt with in-house, rather than by the police.
The programme investigates how the group's Elders are instructed to act when they receive an allegation of sexual abuse, and asks whether the Jehovah's Witnesses have a systematic problem in the way it deals with such complaints.

i don't really know how to describe the feeling but i'll give examples, but the new layout to me makes it feel tiring being on for too long.
1. there is the top menu, then a big add between that and the next part, a big ad between the bottom and where you reply, then on the right column you either have 2 ads on top or some type of summary, then ad, then either related posts or other areas.
there are no borders, the adds have the same color and text type but larger font, and it all seems chaotically merged into one thing where you need to constantly sort out what you are viewing.
Could the avatars be gotten rid of on the 'updated' topic pages ?
Could the 5 10 20 be moved to the top of the page instead of scrolling to the bottom to change from 10 to 20?
(Do people view only 5 topics per page?)
Could the last three posters per topic be removed along with the avatars?
Could the number of replies be made in plain black text rather than harder to see pastel colours?
Thanks
