Watchtower 1st February 1952 page 79
by ThomasCovenant inwatchtower 1st february 1952 page 79.. god interprets and teaches, through christ the chief servant, who in turn uses sam, geoff, steve, gerrit, tony, mark and dave as the visible channel, the visible theocratic organization.. king david approached god through the priestly organization represented by abiathar, who had the ephod; and a servant of today must likewise look to sam and geoff etc (that's us by the way) for spiritual food that is timely and for directions in kingdom service.. you lot must show your understanding in these matters, appreciating your relationship to us, remembering the fate of those like korah and achan and saul and uzziah and others who forgot the theocratic order.. are you assigned as individuals to bring forth the food for the spiritual table?
no?
then don't try to take over our duties.. you should eat and digest and assimilate what is set before you, without shying away from parts of the food because it may not suit the fancy of your mental taste.. the truths you are to publish are the ones provided through sam, geoff and the rest of us, not some personal opinions contrary to what we have provided as timely food.. jehovah and christ direct and correct us as needed, not you as individuals.. if you do not see a point at first you should keep trying to grasp it, rather than opposing and rejecting it and presumptuously taking the position that you are more likely to be right than gerrit or tony.. you should meekly go along with us and wait for further clarification, rather than balk at the first mention of a thought unpalatable to you and proceed to quibble and mouth your criticisms and opinions as though they were worth more than our provision of spiritual food.. theocratic ones will appreciate us and not be so foolish as to pit against jehovahs channel their own human reasoning and sentiment and personal feelings..

Watchtower 1st February 1952 page 79.
God interprets and teaches, through Christ the Chief Servant, who in turn uses Sam, Geoff, Steve, Gerrit, Tony, Mark and Dave as the visible channel, the visible theocratic organization.
King David approached God through the priestly organization represented by Abiathar, who had the ephod; and a servant of today must likewise look to Sam and Geoff etc (that's us by the way) for spiritual food that is timely and for directions in Kingdom service.
You lot must show your understanding in these matters, appreciating your relationship to us, remembering the fate of those like Korah and Achan and Saul and Uzziah and others who forgot the theocratic order.
Are you assigned as individuals to bring forth the food for the spiritual table? No? We are. Then don't try to take over our duties.
You should eat and digest and assimilate what is set before you, without shying away from parts of the food because it may not suit the fancy of your mental taste.
The truths you are to publish are the ones provided through Sam, Geoff and the rest of us, not some personal opinions contrary to what we have provided as timely food.
Jehovah and Christ direct and correct us as needed, not you as individuals.
If you do not see a point at first you should keep trying to grasp it, rather than opposing and rejecting it and presumptuously taking the position that you are more likely to be right than Gerrit or Tony.
You should meekly go along with us and wait for further clarification, rather than balk at the first mention of a thought unpalatable to you and proceed to quibble and mouth your criticisms and opinions as though they were worth more than our provision of spiritual food.
Theocratic ones will appreciate us and not be so foolish as to pit against Jehovah’s channel their own human reasoning and sentiment and personal feelings.

JWs at the Edinburgh Festival
by passwordprotected inmy girlfriend and i took the train through to edinburgh to soak in the atmosphere and catch a few free comedy shows at the fringe festival.. almost immediately i spotted them; jw.org witnesses.. how did i know it was them?.
well, the middle-aged, tall man wearing the suit, shirt and tie was a big clue.
that and the fact that he was holding the hand of a similarly tall, middle-aged woman, dressed in the jw uniform of long skirt, blouse and light summer jacket.

I was at the Bristol Harbour Festival a couple of weeks ago and I counted four different trolleys with nearby Witnesses.
I stood directly next to the three 'brothers' that were manning one as it was up against the railings of the harbour wall as people were crowded against the rails to see the activities on the water.
I listened in to their conversation as they were discussing moving the trolleys as nobody could see them as they were concealed by the crowd.
As they were discussing whether to do it again at next years festival one of them said, ''if Armageddon isn't here by then''. He looked about 20 years old. There was a pause, then the older brother said, ''He always has to put a dampener on thngs'' as they all chortled.
I have to admit that, every time I see the Witness stands, my blood boils.

If you don't like being a Jehovah's Witness then leave....
by Quirky1 inif you don't like being a jehovah's witness or going to the kingdom hall or the society then leave.... it's as simple as that... .
i left several years ago and have not been hounded, bothered or sought out by anyone.
i still see them from time to time, and yes, they do pour out the love bomb when you run into them, but eh, you know what?

Me too.
Attended every meeting for over thirty years. Attended one week, didn't attend the next.
Life carried on.

After Karen first reported the sickening abuse as a teenager she was forced to face Sewell at three meetings organised by the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Respect church elder Sewell branded her a liar and avoided being disciplined.
“I think that’s probably the worst part about the whole thing. I would even go as far as to say that it’s even worse than what he did to me,” said Karen.
“To say I was crushed would be a bit of an understatement. The bottom line is no child should ever be made to sit in front of a person who has touched them and say what that person has done to them.”
She added: “I prayed about this whole thing before it began and I did for the duration while this has been going on, every day practically.
“I’ve not lost my faith – it’s not my faith that’s gone, it’s my trust in the elders that’s gone.”

His victims were banned from "gossiping" about the attacks by other church elders.
'No remorse'
One told the court: "I just felt totally crushed. It was as if he had this power over everyone and no-one could see the real him except for me."
Sewell was cleared of the complaints by a Jehovah's Witness judicial committee after the women reported his behaviour to the church.
