I agree wholeheartedly. Now that I have started giving blood regularly, I feel so good. Good that I am doing more for people in the half hour it takes to give blood than I have ever done in a whole month of field service. And I don't feel like a freeloader on the goodness of others. I really believe that JWs don't see a problem with this policy because practically everything they/we do is based on getting a reward in the future. So the focus is on self, not others.

Morally Bankrupt Blood Policy
by under_believer inin my usual didactic fashion, let's go through the logical steps here.. 1. the society allows witnesses to use many blood fractions: albumin for burn victims is an example.
these medical supplies come from the donated blood supply.. 2. the society forbids witnesses to donate blood.. 3. therefore, individual witnesses who accept treatment from the blood supply are hypocrites.. this is really a horrible situation.
i'm sure they felt up at brooklyn that they were becoming more liberal in relaxing the blood ban; in fact, they created a situation where any witness that accepts any of the arbitrarily allowed blood fractions is taking part in a horrible hypocrisy.

They are definitely sick. How can one get ANY kind of pleasure out of something like that? Yet WTS swears that they are doing all they can to deal with this problem in the org.

Concerning the big announcement in September
by truthseeker ina little while back i posted a topic on a supposedly shocking announcement that was to be made in september, which is just over a week away.. i have nothing new to add, suffice to say that gary1914 posted an interesting comment that he heard from his relative, a district overseer... .
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/115450/4.ashx.
i was at the kingdom hall tonight and i went through all the recent boe letters just to make sure that i didn't miss one, because sometimes i do.

Actually I started thinking about this and if my facts are correct, this wouldn't work anyway. They count publishers by service year which begins in September. So the number probably wouldn't show for a year. they probably are just at their foolish predictions again.

THE REAL REASON FAMILY MEMBERS SHUN.........................
by vitty ini think the real reason family members shun their "loved ones" is not because they love you and think it will bring you back, or that they are being obedient to god, but that you have totally embarrassed them, brought the family name into disrepute and it now brings into question how spiritual they are.. if they shun you, in their minds, they think the elders, and dubs will not think less of them.
its all about what the "neighbours " think not what the bible teaches.. its about pride not love.. what do you think?.
oh and it gives them brownie points to be used at armageddon.......................just in case.. .

They do it because the 'slave' said that Jehovah wants them to. As for the 'slave' they want shunning because if the average dub really knew what happens when a person leaves the Borg, they might want to leave as well. Its all a part of the mind control. And families are the victims. Oh wait, doesn't the new tract say that true religion unites families? Oh well, I guess that says what kind of religion this is....

This 'documentary' should not even air. It is advertising. Incidentally, a fellow JW I work with called Bethel and was told that while the WTS isn't promoting it, they and the GB are in favor of it. The Knocking personnel were allowed in Bethel to film and interview.

Very interesting that the Knocking 'documentary' will be airing around the same time. It wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing is a well thought out marketing campaign.

What a piece of hypocritical crap. To imply that all other religions produce bad fruit and that we don't. Even to see things in that black and white, all or nothing manner is pathetic.

JW's believe in Jesys. They believe in the Prophet Muhammed, George Bush, The Great Pumpkin, need I go on....The publications do not discuss the NT in any substantive way. Further most JWs really have no idea about concepts that Christians take as common knowledge. Like grace. My spouse just looked at me when I said that we are under grace and said quote: "What is grace?" My spouse is a JW as well.

Question for Ex Elders... Field Service
by zeroday inbehind the scenes, how did the elder body view field service.
were they enthusiastic about it, viewed it as necessary to maintain their position or just indifferent about it.
in my 28 years inside i know of only one elder that had the pioneer spirit and actually pioneered when he retired.

Our elder body, with one or two exceptions, feels that we must be a "good example" for the congregation. But they know that it is virtually impossible to be an elder wityh the responsibilities and be in service all the time. We can't count shepherding calls, preparing for parts and more than one hour per week with our kids. So tour body will often say behind closed doors that an elder should do what he needs to. But put in face time by going to service groups. So long as the friends see you, the thinking is that you can go about your business afterwards.
