While I sympathize with those who have been the victim of an extra marital affair, I also sympathize with those in the marriage who feel they have no other recourse but commit adultry to get out. Why a bunch of old geezers in Brooklyn had any say in my reasons for divorce is beyond me. They didn't live with the jerk I did.

there are so many unwritten laws, but most witnesses know when it's wrong to sit next to someone.. name a few cases, when it's ok to sit next to someone, and when it's not ok?

A single brother definitely did not sit near a single sister unless they were engaged. I dated a dub once from another cong, and when he visited and SAT (My Goodness!) next to me, all the older sis's had us married. It was alot of pressure and we broke up.
When i was married to an elder, it was unwritten law we needed to sit near the front. Had to be good examples, you know. I wonder if anyone picked up on my seating choices, which were moving to the back of the hall, as i was heading out the door....

after almost a year of living abroad, away from my parents and away from anything even remotely watchtower related, having allowed myself to not worry about these silly little things (yet convincing my parents that i was still going); now that i've been back for about 6 weeks, i feel that i have to put on a double effort to cover over things that i've said or done, and avoid using "suspect" words or phrases like "cheers" or "good luck".
its driving me crazy at the moment, and 10 times more than it was doing before i moved out.
today, i had a mini panic attack at having told a "worldly" friend of mine "good luck".
Unfortunately, being an elder's son is going to continue to put you in these situations. You probably don't want to hear this, but elder's sons' just don't fade away. If the children in his house are not actively worshipping, he can be dismissed as an elder.
It is a very complicated situation you find yourself in, and it would be easy for anyone to tell you what to do. You must follow your heart. Saying that, I would like to point out that it probably won't get better, and you should think about the consequences living a lie will have on you emotionally and physically.

We've been using it here and love it! I love getting some of the old black and whites (Hitchcock, anything with Cary Grant) and watching them with my hubby who has never seen them! Also, with two little ones in the house, getting to see all the latest movies is hard, so we wait for the DVD's.
I had the same problem returning movies to Blockbuster - the late fees kill you! And getting young ones out of the house in wintertime just to return a rental was a pain! The turn around here is quick, within three days of mailing, I have a new DVD.
Just a word to those who have lost movies....I saw a news piece about this, and they will charge you big time when you cancel your membership for any lost rentals. An example was of a college coed, whose mail is handled by 3-4 different people before she gets it, some DVD's were stolen and netflix charged her alot. My solution was to save all the e-mails the send saying the mailed one or received one from me. That way there is no question.

There were at least two bad marriages in my old cong, where the couple were just living in the same house, in separate bedrooms, waiting for the other to crack first. Is this scenario better? Can the elders sit there and say this is preferable instead of divorcing? What about the children in those households, having this "role model" as a marriage?
In my opinion, if you are unhappy, get out, preferably without breaking your vows. But I can see where a person thinks committing adultry to end their marriage and get a divorce is their only option.
