  my eldest son (40) and his jw mom (in here 60,s) can not have a. decent conversation before he storm off in anger.

  all famlies have their problems, we are no different.

  My eldest son (40) and his JW mom (in here 60,s) can not have A

  decent conversation before he storm off in anger. I have told him

  all famlies have their problems, we are no different. But for years

  he have told me his mom is not normal, so today he E-mail this

  by CYNDI LOPEZ ( who is miss Lopez, I do not know), but it

  fits my ex-wife to A tee. Here is A case when people become

  JW,s with mental issues, it only compounds the problem.

  Narcissistic mothers do not have children for the same reasons the

  rest of us do. They do not look forward to the birth of their child

  because they can,t wait to see what they look like or what type

  of personality they will have or who they will become. No they

  have children for one reason only, More mirrors. They have children

  so that the children will love them unconditionally, not the other way

  around. They have children to do things for them. They have children

  to reflect their false images. They have children to use, abuse and

  control them.

  These mothers end up resenting all the work that goes into raising A

  child, having no use for them unless they are achieving, doing

  something or otherwise reflecting their false image onto them. Children

  are a nuisance to them, taking precious time away from their own

  agendas. They don,t like to have to shop for clothes for the children,

  prepare meals( my kids told me after the divorce, we did not know

  mother could cook), do their laundry, drive them to friends house,

  throw parties for the kids, or protect them from abuse.

  They will use their kids as slaves. They will delegate all household

  chores to the children as early as possible. They will insist that

  they pay for their own personan items and clothing as early as

  possible. Older children will become resposible for younger

  children.( we had four kids). No matter how many of her

  responsibilities her children take on, it will never be enough

  or be done well enough. They expect perfection and of course

  they train their kids to believe that they are the ideal mother.

  These mothers steals their kids childhoods, identites and future

  healthy relationships. It is incredibly difficult and painful to

  acknowledge that your mother never loved you without blaming

  yourself- she raised you to blame yourself for everything.

  The bible is not Monotheistic-- for the Jews there was supposed

  to be no other gods, since they had come to know the

  highest one and creator of the rest.

  This is interesting, in the bible Gods are mention 244 times,

  234 times in the OT , 9 times in NT. Source Blue Bible.

  Why do people look to the Bible for answers when it is obvious much OLDER works exist?

  just finished up reading the sumerian texts posted on a site, as well as the vedic books.

  it is interesting to note that "fables" or works of antiquity, written down, that are much older than the bible, ot included, paint a different picture.

  why, and i still cannot wrap my mind around this, do people let the bible be the answer for everything, when it is quite obvious that there are works pre-dating the bible?.

  least three places, Mesopotamis, Egypt and Harappa

  between 3500 B.C-3100 B.C..The flood 2500-2300 B.C

  Something is not adding up.

  Why are so many of the Bible stories so mystifying. The greatest

  man ever born and we are not sure of the date. A star stops in

  mid-heaven over the home of Jesus and only the wisemen notice it.

  And if I was Joseph everyone would have known, my wife had sex

  with A angel, and he will be the Messiah, the Anointed One. I

  would think his Jewish neighbors would have been happy over

  the idea. Or maybe he told them and they suggest he should

  easy up on the drugs.

  Are there any former missionaries here?

  not sure i've ever read any experiences from former missionaries here (but i'm sure there has been) .

  but it would be very interesting to know how you feel about it today.

  everything you sacrificed.

  I wasn,t assign as A missionary buy the borg. but serve In Belize

  for over A year. We believe it was A good opportunity for our

  two Kids to have the experience of living in A foreign country.

  We knew all the missionaries. Of all the missionaries that was

  assign there, only one have remain. A nice couple , they are

  in their 50,s now.What will happen if he decide to return to

  the states, he have been in the work since he was in his 20,s,

  no retirement. We were there around 1974.

  The first time in the bible when it speaks of other Gods is

  Gen.3;5 in the KJV bible. For God doth know that in the day

  ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye

  shall be as GODS, knowing good and evil. Why did satan

  say gods. So the question is which bible is correct "be

  like God", or be as Gods. Exodus 18;11 "Now I know that

  the lord is greater than all gods",.....It comes down too

  this, is their one God or lesser Gods according to Exodus20;3.

  And if only one God how did mankind get off track so soon

  and begain worshiping false Gods. 2500 years from Genesis

  too the Exodus and the ten commandments, and we must

  remerber between Adam and Methuselah they cover A period

  of 1900 yrs. So in less then 600yrs, people begain worshiping

  false Gods. I do not get it. The only logic answer for me is ,

  people were worshiping false Gods A long time before Adam.

  Well since we are on this subject. When and why did people start

  in worshiping trees and the sun. If I was sitting around the camp fire

  with my Great great great grandfather and he told me, you no why

  we Are the only ones here on earth? No, why. Because my great great

  grandfather and grandmother was made by the hand of God. So

  this is it, we are the olny people on earth, yep. In my book that,s

  A story you will not forget. Every generation would no that story.

  I am sure that was the story that Noah heard. OK after the flood

  people scattered in different lands. But don,t you think that story

  would have been past down to the next generation, that,s

  A hell of A story. There was no problem in remerbering the

  generations of Adam too Jesus, but someone forget that God

  made Adam, and that way people worship A tree or A calf.

  ok Tammy, this is the point that I was tried to make or how I see it.

  What is strange is what God doesn,t say. He could have said, :I'm

  the one and only God-listen up!-but He didn,t. He doesn,t even say

  "I'm your #1 God! He just seems to be demanding, in effect, "most

  favored nation trading status"- i.e, to be treated no worse than any

  other god. After all, " Put no other gods before me" doesn,t say "put

  no other gods even with me, does it? This phrasing implies that thare

  are other gods.( As does the fact that the Bible refers to other gods

  230 times). Apparently the God of the Bible had to constantly compete

  with these other gods for the Hebrews' allegiance. Often, He lost!

  In fact , no sooner did He give them the commandments than He

  lost out to a golden calf. He had just delivered them from Egypt as A pillar

  of cloud by day and A pillar of fire by night, despite the alleged

  parting of the red sea and all the rest, the Hebrews rejected Him

  for a silly little inanimate object they made themselves almost

  the first chance they got. So if the Hebrews who knew this God best

  and most directly failed to see the merits of following His

  commandments, the obvious question, is why they continue to

  worship gold, wood and etc. as their God. The Hebrews where always

  bitching and rejecting Him. Adam and Eve in effect rejected Him.

  Satan rejected Him. People in the New Testament rejected Jesus

  right and left. In my book this put those God,s on A even plain

  as God.
