it is truly amazing how a person (myself for one) could go along reading and even studying that stuff but not really seeing it for what it was. Now when I read it I am shocked at the shite I didn't bat an eye at.
Page 27 paragraph 10 is more of the same "They recognize, however, that Christ is using a small group of anointed Christian men as a Governing Body to lead and direct his disciples on earth. And again they use a scripture that doesn't prove their point at all.-Read Acts 15:6, 28-30.

Just to be clear, I thought that thread was great and was not saying I didn't agree. I just was so floored when I read the actual words that I wanted to emphasis how dispicable they are. so I started another thread for "repitition for emphasis". learned that in the theocratic school.

Following GB equals following Christ (Visual Aid)
I checked out that thread and found it quite amusing until I was prompted to check the article itself. If this is not blasphemy then I do not know what is. Not bad enough that they claim "In this time of the end, Christ has committed "all his belongings" all the earthly interests of the Kingdom to his "faithful and discreet slave" they feel the need to add "and its representative Governing Body, a group of anointed Christian men" and look at how clearly their cited bible text proves that premise (not) (Matt. 24:45-47) "Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time? 46 Happy is that slave if his master on arriving finds him doing so. 47 Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.
However they are not finished yet. Now they feel it necessary to narrow it down even further.
The anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day Governing Body, they are in fact following their Leader, Christ

Following GB equals following Christ (Visual Aid)
by Rank&FileGuy in.
just a visual aid to help everyone understand what message they're conveying in the watchtower study this coming sunday.
it's funny but just by using their first names instead of "governing body" really brings home the ridiculousness of it.. -rfg.

By and large that is one odd looking group of men ain't it. Any one of them could be used in a photoshopped yoik, yoik picture.

nelly136 and Sam Whiskey = totally with you on the compassionate level. But and it is big but for me. First to nelly136, it was the grandfather that was not doing so well in the "truth". Surely if it meant the young david this would have not been his idea of a big adventure. And it is true Sam Whiskey we don't know the options. Again a but. I find it difficult that the choices are: #1 Bethel, #2 etc. and the reason I even posted this is the sickening cult aspect. The wish foundation is to be lauded, but what a shame that this young mans choice helps the society with what becomes a positive spin. They would no more encourage any support of that organization then they would any other "worldly" group. If they want to be such heroes when they were notified of this why did they not say that the whole premise does not fit their profile. You know; go ahead and help some other young child and WE will honour young davids wishes. Anyway for me it just reeks of adult manipulation of a young impressionable boy. And the society jumping on the bandwagon.

WT Going Online
by carvin init seems that the wt may be moving more and more to being online than printed(i know still years away).
but it occurred to me that if they get to sey 51% of material being recieved online then they can make changes in the books/articles and fewer people will notice.
this could prove to be a plus for them.. any thoughts?.

Sounds so delightfully enjoyable that Kingdom Hall stuff. I remember the line that so often followed the How are you doing question - boy we sure need the new system to come. And I love the line "A long week in service with 'I'm not Interested' and most not at home"
Yup it's the most rewarding vocation and it serves such a useful purpose, saving the lives of the not at homes, one not at a time.
