Well wouldn't you know it... policy is coming up for renewal and i used to be an occassional tobacco user. I ended up quitting completely, never really smoked that much... I do prefer chewing the gum, though, as nicotine does offer some health benefits, as per recent studies. Anyways, I have stopped chewing the gum for a couple days now, as i have an appointment with the insurance guy at the end of next week. So, am I going to get hammered if I used to be an occassional smoker (but still use the nicotine gum)? If so, I may just wait until the nicotine and cotinine clears my system. Anyone know how long that usually takes? Thanks!

TheTrueOne - you actually believe the employment numbers? According to shadow stats 68 million Americans do not have a job. Those that fall off the rolls are no longer counted and the vast majority who do find a job, find that it pays significantly less than the previous one (or they have to take mulitple part time jobs to make ends meet), creating a disparity in their income/prior way of life/living standards...

Yes, you can face your accuser, per the Bible. Also, speak to an attorney, have him draft a letter indicating that any announcement by the local kingdom hall will be perceived as slander of your good name, and that the elders will and can be sued (personally) for slander. Make no mention of sueing the WTS corp itself. This happened to me, and I was never bothered again. If i were you, I would dick with them, what do you have to lose? you may even get some enjoyment out of it. ;)

If I were you, I would just cut them off at the knees and when they bring these issues up, just say you do not want to talk about it. Offer nothing else, no explanation, nothing. Stop doing token service and just give it up. You are doing no good to your family or sanity by walking the fence. Just let it go. If they insist on wanting to know why you don't go to meetings, or offer any "sheparding" help. refuse. If you are caught in a situation where you cannot escape, simply say you do not want to talk about it, and hold your grounf with that simple phrase. No one needs to know anything above and beyond that.
