23"Why Love Never Fails"....Giving the talk tonight. Help?
by stillstuckcruz injeez....i if this was about two years ago, i could have put this talk togather lickety split.
but i'm finding it impossible because i can't bring myself to put in phrases such as "god's true people", "love motivates us to....." , etc, etc.
every sentence i add, i just want to throw up because it's all such...pish posh and falsehoods and hypocrisy.

JW at work hitting on me!! (for real)
by Free!! inon another thread i mentioned i met some jws at work within the past 2 months.
well, 2 of them became particularly interested and getting to know me (a lady and a guy) the lady is really nice, and the only reason i know she is a jw is because she mentioned something about no b-days or christmas and that was it... she has not tried to preach to me or anything.... .
on the other hand... this young guy, well he is making sure he becomes my friend, asked me to be my fb friend and messages me everyday at work or on fb... now the funny thing is he told me he is a jw and about 3 times already he had suggested i read my bible (whenever i post status about being bored or unable to concentrate on homework), well yesterday he sent me a message that said "i would like to talk to you tonite, maybe we can hit it up" my reaction was .

Why are you stressing over nothing? Just tell him to leave you alone, that you and god have a mutual arrangement - you don't go into gods house and he doesn't come into yours... and leave it at that? On a scale of 1-10, how hot are you? ;) j/k

by sinis indo the witnesses usually not allow a da'd or df'd individual, who may have been a member for decades, the opportunity of a congregation funeral?
especially if the family members or living spouse request it?
i thought we were all absolved after death, according to the bible?.

Let the shunning begin, apparently...(long-winded)
by lilbluekitty inmy father and i have been going back and forth on facebook in private messages.
it had been since august that my dad had contacted me, before i was beginning to "come out" about not wanting to be a jw, and actually i haven't actually stated that to any of my family or jw friends yet, as i was hoping to do the fade thing.. well i wrote to my dad and he has recently been very sr (self-righteous) lately and was copy/pasting "answers" to my questions right out of the wt cd-rom.
i called him on it and asked him to speak out of his heart.

Like others have mentioned - tell him all is well and talk about ANYTHING other than the JW's. Don't answer his questions, otherwise you won't pass "Go". Don't be suprised if you get a visit or call from the elders, as your dad more than likely passed this info on, and or made hard copies of your Facebook conversation. You need to stop, unless you don't care about the repercussions?

Your playing with fire. You are better off fading due to "mental stress", and leaving it at that. I would not speak of the other church to your family or friends, and if you decide to go one day keep it between you and your husband. Unless you desire to get DF'd I would keep your mouth shut and just tell your dad that you are mentally fatigued and need some time off. Leave it at that...

This will lead to bank runs. Why do you think citi and bofa turned them back? Because they do not have the money and the FDIC can only back 1.15 PENNIES on the dollar in the event of collapse/run....

Now what do I do?
by outsmartthesystem infor those of you that know my plight....i need to know your opinion.
summary - i developed a piss poor, combative, rebellious attitude toward the society many years ago.
my wife saw it and hated it.

It sounds like your fucked. I really do not know what else to suggest. I guess you could just live your life, stay married and let the chips fall... I know the type of person you are projecting from your wifes perspective. My mother is the SAME, the only one still in, and will not even entertain looking at other material or engage in research that may prove otherwise. Brain washed 100%... only death will set them free. In the meantime, before we all go to the happy hunting ground, just try to be the best dad and husband. I would let the whole JW thing go, and find some freedom within the scope you are given. Maybe, on day, your wife may come around.
