mr tortoise is walking down the street when he is mugged by a gang of snails.. the police interview mr tortoise after the attack and ask him if he could describe his assailants.. "im afraid not" said mr tortoise, "it all happened so fast............".
its old and silly, but it still makes me laugh....

Come to think of it I have done the lottery a few times since I left, but then I could win £10m!!!! Hmmmm they say its 14-million to one to win the lottery (or there abouts).... so mathematically Im more likely to catch mad-cow-disease... which the government told us not to worry about.... hhhmmm. IT COULD BE YOU!!!!!

HHHmmmmm. My name is Paul and.... and.... and.... IM A JWD ADDICT (Phew)
Well kinda, Ive been on most days since I joined. The day I joined was the first day I started to look up ex-witnesses on the net after leaving the 'truth' 2 and a half years ago. Now Im here I feel at home with the people I have shared a lifestyle with. Its refreshing, theraputic even and helps me make sense of my feelings. Besides this, you lot are the friendliest bunch of 'foaming-mouthed apostates' (if I still believed the GB) I could have stumbled accross.
Just wanna thank everyone for being here and being supportive- you are all fantastic.

I just dont get gambling at all. I used to remember trying not to say things like - "I bet you cant do this!!!" when I was a kid because it signified an element of gambling!!! Nice (!) to it it flourishes amongst the JW's at least.

At last finished reading Crisis of Conscience
by diamondblue1974 in.
and what an eye opener it was...dont get me wrong i faded some 10 years ago and the reasons for such were contained in the book, i.e 1914, failed prophecies and so forth.. the expose is disarming by its objective style and whilst i now read any literature through sceptical eyes i could see a person genuinely grieved by what had taken place and the crisis he was subjected to conscientiously; it said it all to me when he said that his aim was not to divert people from the jws but give them support so they could develop as christians and therefore allow them to come to their own conclusions (or words to that effect).. extremely well written and consise with reams of references (which i happen to love).. anyone that is recently out must read this book...it objective, honest and was totally surprising in parts.. db74

by Krista inthis is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.
our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.
they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

A question for my UK cousins: What are the different British accents?
by Check_Your_Premises insince i have so many brits and uk types in one place, i was wondering if you all could classify or tell me the names of the different british accents.
i think most in the states could be grouped by region and then each region divided into regular folks and folks with cash.
for instance in thestates, you basically have north east which is can be characterized by your classic new york or boston accents.

As an experiment- get the following accent'd people to say the following phrases-
Scottish- 'Murder' or 'Burger'
London- 'Pie'
Liverpool- 'They do tho, dont they, tho?'
and my favourite....
Newcastle/Geordie- 'Kawasaki Photocopier'
