  candace asked me to tell you thank you for all your kind expressions of support.

  this really means a lot to her.

  she wants you to know that she is coping well with all the stress and excitement, even though she's had years of anger and frustration because of being abused for so long, first by the molester, and then by the wt.

  i can't believe do catholic priest get hit with payouts like this.

  definitely feel terrible what happened to her but to hold the society responsible for a person not living by bible standards is crazy.

  what a pack of lies about secrecy and cover ups.

  just got notice that all sparlock t-shirts, cups, bags, etc.

  will be pulled from my shop.

  watchtower corp. has filed a complaint to cafepress on all sparlock items.

  The WT probably sees a missed money-making opportunity. I can't see how this is an infringement of copyright because 'Sparlock' was created to be distributed free as a 'moral lesson'. 'Jehovah created the Watchtower, and the Watchtower created Sparlock'

  the plaintiff, candace conti's goal from the very beginning was to bring enough attention to this problem to incentivize watchtower to change its policy of secrecy.

  the award can be explained as it was decided: separate compensatory and punitive damages.

  the punitive award is established in law to punish wrongdoing - here, the conscious disregard for others - and deter that conduct in the future.

  I'm assuming Kendrick (perp) being a 'private individual' won't be finding $16Million down the back of his sofa. How does this work? Kendrick is an 'agent' of the WT (in this case), so will the WT be liable for his 'portion'?

  Thanks for this. I hope it encourages/opens the floodgates for others to come forward (crikey, there must be MANY).

  I think, in England, we are 'sheltered' from all that happens in USA...it's all so 'distant' to us. It would be a fabulous idea to contact (religious correspondents of) British newspapers.
