  it appears to be from the time period when jw's were about 5 million and still had that extra meeting during the week.

  i have no idea about the website in general, only found the article doing some research.

I have no idea about the website in general, only found the article doing some research. I think it is a great article especially for non jw's to understand the milieu of the cult, would be good for a jw to read but we all know that would never happen.

  An example from the article, ....."In Witnessworld, there can be no grey area to allow for any form of evolution. In general, if the Society agrees with a scientist and needs support for an argument, s/he is "a noted scientist"; "an expert", but those who present disagreeable views of the world (as seen through Watchtower spectacles) will be labelled "God-dishonouring scientists promoting human concepts" or "worldly scientists", even if they are the most devout Christians. Philosophy or university (with the epithets "worldly") and anything which leads to "independent thinking", are also disapproved."

  Who answers their phones these days? If it is a number I don't recognize I let voice mail pick up. Maybe a few elderly relatives still answer unknown numbers but not anybody I know under 55.

  If it is an emergency everyone has my cell #.

  A most interesting Christmas present

  so our daughter gave my wife and i a very nice family album of photos from the course of the year.

  as we opened it, she said it had a surprise hidden in it, so we're watching for something to fall out.

  about 2/3 or the way through it we hit an ultrasound print of a tiny baby.

  lm curious to know how others feel about this subject.for me its blatently obvious the gb make things up as time passes by and the sheep bow down with blind obedience without questioning.lts like the blind leading the blind..

  i was so impressed by what the brazilian xjw's are doing to inform the world about jw's unfair and harmful sanctions put upon those who leave the religion that i just had to share their efforts with you.

  congratulations are in order for a work well done.

  i asked sebastiao ramos ramos, a former jw to explain in english what abravipre is all about.

  come on people, there can be a lot more interesting ways of handling the elder and co visits to your home than stated in some other threads.

  i will give some here but want your input.. for example:.

  -- if the elders/co want to visit, graciously offer them to come on your family worship night.

  God's word-the publications?

  okay, so i have a friend that still interacts with my family.

  she is going through some difficult times, so i suggested she just read some of psalms.

  she became a little agitated and said she would just listen to the mags.

  It has been my very limited experience that jw's will not read the Bible by themselves. In my opinion they probably have tried it and found it does not match up with jw teachings therefore they are frightened by what they read and that they must be getting it wrong somehow without Mother to interpret for them. Might as well just rely on the rags. If a CO has some explanation for this all the better, relieves them of any personal responsibility.
