okay hi.
i'm new here and i kinda like it but i do have some question have any of you grown up in the truth and then some were along the line stop going to meeting well i did i found out about some stuff the organization was doing and it really disapointed me and also the congregations i have been in haven't been very confornting so if any of you have some you want to talk about or you have been through the same i would really like to hear from you .

Welcome to Simon's world! Good to see new voices here. I notice you think Roller is confused. What I read in his/her post was that the "unconditional love" that the bible teaches is not in the KH, especially amongst the leadership. You say you learned that kind of love there? Your congregation must be unique from what I have seen in reading the posts from hundreds of Jw's and exjw's on the net.

Think for a moment that you were an alien visiting earth for the first time and you had a representative of each of the worlds major religions try to convince you what was "reality". By what standard would you judge the veracity of each. When all of them have such similar stories to tell about their founder, each with a little twist that could qualify them as "unique" yet all basically giving the same moral and ethical message.
Now compare that with the disadvantage we have of being emersed into a particular culture with all the trappings that distort how we see reality and what is "logical" vs what is not! How you going to know whether any of them are "true" or only one? Or is it possible that there is a truth that escapes all of them? Is there only a choice between being one of them or atheist? Are there other paradigms to consider? What construct do we have of the "god" of our imaginations that has to be so in line with our own prejudices that we fit like hand and glove, no pain, just our own personal comfort zone god!!

Personally I prefer Peach Pi with soft vanilla ice cream. Banana cream will do in a pinch though with vanilla waffer bottom crust!

I tend to agree that we will have to take responsibility for our actions and decisions whether in a cosmic way or simply the result of cause and effect anthropomorphically. We have at our finger tips access to all the information we need. If we thrust our fingers into our ears and refuse to investigate, we still are responsible. It does say something though about the influence of our peers and our reference group. How many are still draggin their sorry arses to the memorial or assemblies or meetings because of friends and family? In other words, they are saying that they will lead a life of duplicity rather than take an individual stand. I know that sounds harsh, but it is my conviction that accountability will cut a straight line through all the bs and we will have to deal with our decision one way or another once we become aware of the real nature of the WBTS.

Well if the prophetic year can be rounded off from 365 to 360, then its a simple matter to round 3.1416 off to 3.0. Geeze youse guys, where's yer hermeneutics!! (don't know how to add that damn smilie thingie)

jehovahs witnesses are lovely people, i should know - i officially still am one ... but ... although their great cult leader, judge joseph rutherford, banned them from taking part in the evil pagan celebrations of birthdays and such, there is one ceremony that is ridgedly and solemly adhered to.
the anual celebration of the "lords evening meal".

I think Willy was perhaps asking about the reference to Mithrism. It's evident that the ritual that most Christians think originated with Jesus at the "last supper" has precedants in past religious rights that those same Christians brand as "satanic cults", ie the "Cult of Mithra". If Willy takes a little cruze through then internet I think he/she will find that many of the stories associated with the life of Jesus including the resurrection myth are not original.
