did it ever happen in your congregation that a person was asked to leave?.
i remember about 10 years ago, an elder was giving the sunday talk, and a woman that i never saw before was seated in the front.
she was all alone, and right in the middle of the brothers talk, she raised her hand and started asking questions to the brother about what he just said.
Thanks

well ive noticed that people call the jehovahs witnesses a cult, so i looked into what a cult is.
from the book cults too good to be true by raphael aron
a cult is a group or movement that, to a significant degree, (a) exhibits great or excessive devotion or dedication to some idea or thing, (b) uses a thought reform program to persuade, control and socialize members.
Well I’ve noticed that people call the Jehovah’s Witnesses a Cult, so I looked into what a cult is.
From the book “Cults too good to be true” By Raphael Aron
Definition: A cult is a group or movement that, to a significant degree, (a) Exhibits great or excessive devotion or dedication to some idea or thing, (b) uses a thought reform program to persuade, control and socialize members. (i.e. to integrate them into the group’s unique pattern of relationships, beliefs, values and practices), (c) systematically induces states of psychological dependency in members, 9d) exploits members to advance the leadership’s goals, and (e) causes psychological harm to members, their families and the community.
Eight Characteristics of a Cult
1. Milieu Control: Refers to total control of communication in the groups; for example, no gossip or expression of doubt about the group. Members have to report peers who break any rules. Have limited or no contact with relatives and ignore anything in the media.
2. Loading of the language: is the imposition of a language which is unique to the cult. The continued use of particular clichés and expressions creates a sense of camaraderie, which unites the members and sets them apart from the world, which, in some groups, is described as satanic, evil or unclean
3. A demand for purity: refers to a radical separation of good and bad. The cult is right, the world is wrong. Acts are either good or bad and people are viewed in black-and-white terms. Purity allows the cult to let the ends justify the means; deception and lying are acceptable if they serve the pure aim of the cult. Most apocalyptic cults spread the message that you are either a member of the group – and will survive, or you are not – and won’t survive. In order to save people and draw them into the group, you can lie, because those who are saved will ultimately appreciate your action.
4. Confession: Refers to the process by which members admit everything about their past and present behavior. Although the members is told that the confession will set him free, in effect it binds him to the group. Later on, the information can be used against him. Leaving the cult becomes more difficult, as the member feels that he will have left behind an intimate part of himself.
5. Mystical Manipulation: --- or planned spontaneity--- refers to a process whereby the members feel they have chosen to belong to the group; a belief is created that allegiance to the cult is a totally voluntary act. Events in the cult are planned to look spontaneous, when, in fact, they are carefully orchestrated by the leadership
6. Doctrine Over person: requires the member to interpret reality through the cult doctrine and to ignore personal experiences or reality. If the member’s experience is disregarded. Contradictions become associated with guilt; doubt indicates one’s own deficiency or evil.
7. Sacred Science : refers to the leader’s claim to wisdom and the fact that his philosophy and belief system are relevant to all humankind. Anyone who disagrees is not only immoral but unscientific.
8. Dispending of existence: means that those who have not seen the light are wedded to evil, tainted and lack the right to exist. Hence a cult member threatened with being cast into outer darkness may experience a fear of extinction or collapse. This is the final step in creating members’ dependence on the group.
This is all quoted from the book. Cults too good to be true by Raphael Aron
So what do you think, does the Jehovah’s Witnesses fit any of these characteristics?
Thought I’d just share this with you all!

this thread isn't about spitting on the sidewalk or picking your nose in public.
i am talking about bad thinking habits.
ways of thinking that we learned in order to survive, bad ways of thinking that we learned because of wrong information/wrong beliefs that we had.
I get all into something, obsess over it for a while, then find something else different, and start over.
ROFL! I am like that as well!
I hate it though, i can't stick to one interest, Like I do swimming for a while then quit, drama for a while then Quit, then I do art, then quit, Now I am doing Guitar and Singing, I hope I won't quit at that as well!
Mind you i still like the other three, I am just not as obsessive over them, i am starting to get interested In drama again!
In the way of topics, I used to have an obsession on Volcanoes, when i was 7 I would go to the local libary and read stacks of books on Volcanoes. I forgotten most of the stuff I read though! I even wrote stories on Volcanoes
Then i was interested in Grim Reapers for some unknown reason! Mainly cause the grim reaper came on the Sims.
Now my interest is religion, I had other obsessions at times just can't remember them all.
But I generally study on my interests, like I am on Jehovah's Witnesses, there are no books on them in the library! So I read a book on Cults instead!
Eversince people call the Jehovah's Witnesses a cult, I must say the book i'm reading also thinks jw's are a cult!
And of cause Evanescence! I the band and listen to their music all the time.
Honestly my obsessions really scare my friends sometimes!
I think I'm really into the supernatural.
Sonnyboy, OMG I am like that as well! then again i think everyone does that, leave their homewok to the last minute, I'm just so lazy sometimes lol!

even if they didnt even speak, just the mere presence of a few apostates in the crowd.
but make it known to all congs that this is the day.
Hey soundsgreat. I have an idea on which day ya'll should come. The day Armageddon starts.
They will be waiting for a very lonnnggg time!
Evanescence *Armageddon will come, just you wait, just you bloody wait! *

I used to have a real bad habit of swearing, using bad language. I started to study the bible with JW and applying what they taught me from the bible and was able to give it up.
My friend has a bad habit of swearing, please tell what helped you stop lol! Heard that studying ona topic, like history or something helps get your mind off evil thoughts, it trians your mind to think normally. don't ask how, it jsut works for some people and they suggested it to me... but why history lol! Maybe bible study helped you get your mind off swearing. Evanescence

One problem with cats is their breath stinks
Oh and cats spray *smells horrible * and they like to vomit in the middle of the floor!
Well thats been my experiance with Cats.
My cat is evil! She loves ripping all my posters down with her razer sharp claws.
Whenever my parents read the newspaper she comes up and sits on top of the paper, cheeky bugga!
She also likes to attack the Keyboard, she jumps on top of it and plays with it. So you can see my cat is smart and loves getting attention.
When you walk pass she jumps out from under the seat and attacks your ankles, she is one mad cat lol!
But beware for rats and mice, she loves hunting, she also likes playing with mice as well, Spiders also.
Then the most annoying thing of all is when she Drags her ass (preferably known as skooting) on the carpet!
Yes she's been to the vet, she meaws and wails all the way down to the vet and back as she is trapped in her little cage.
But she still likes to "skoot" cause she knows that we don't like it!
So thats my evil Cat, her name is Blackie, I wonder where she got the bad influence from
