who escapes more often, those born into it or adult converts?

what strikes me on this board is the number of adult converts that have left the borg, either fading out or getting df'd.

from my experience (i was born into it, 2nd generation, left before getting baptized) most of the faders or escapees were also like.

me, born into it, never really accepted it and just bowed out at the first opportunity.

Third generation born into it. My paternal grandmother started the whole thing after her divorce during WWII and was "looking for answers." Super dub dad became a convert at around 12 yrs. and my mother also was a teen convert. I see that all of them had very very difficult lives so da troof must have looked like a wonderful dream to them.
I know that I would never have become a dub had i not been born into it. Started my fade 2-3 yrs ago and DA'd myself about 3-4 mos ago.
The only reason i got baptised at 17 was so that i would qualify to marry my first jw loser hubby.

i did just yesterday! and she thought my beared boyfriend attended meetings!!!!!! she talked up a blue streak which totally shocked the hell out of me. i'm sure they announced that i had DA'ed myself????

so all you happily married folk leave me alone.

she and i were both quite fed up with the dub mentality.

Marriage is definitely over-rated! Except for my boyfriend's STBX. Because she decided to be a stay at home mom, she's still getting his entire paycheck! I kid u not!
Imagine that! Kicking out your hubby/breadwinner and STILL getting all of his $$$!!

i stopped into a local grocery store with my boyfriend and as we were squeezing the brocolli, i hear a big "hi" behind me.

for the life of me i couldn't remember her name.

it was a "sister" from my used-to-be congo.

when i think about it, there was really no one there that i was really close to. it was not a close knit congo and i was a newcomer (10 years) as opposed to those who grew up in that area.
shunning really wouldn't effect me like it has for those who grew up in the same area through childhood and now adulthood. no one there that i really miss, most were just "users" who would constantly ask for favours, etc.
one family in particular had children who were good friends with mine. both of their kids now have psychiatric problems and have been hospitalized for it. the father, although young (late thirties) is a staunch dubbie and rules with an iron hand over his wife and family. although being a single mom, i actually made more $$ than this elder did (food service career w/ stay at home mom) and they were pleased as punch to have me take their kids out for a meal or a movie many many times. (my treat, of course)
this elder was the one that took the initiative in trying to set up a JC for me. that's when i wrote my DA letter.

frankly, i'm surprised it didn't spread like wildfire as she is GOOD friends with another mentally disturbed sister who had me doing things for her constantly!!!!

i plan on moving next year about 45 minutes away from old congo. of course there is a different congo about 10 minutes away
