Yes there is evidence of this, two opposing waves that under specific circumstances create a stationary wave interference pattern, albeit a temporary one. However, this is not listed as a cause of global tides

This remains to be seen but your conjecture does not constitute proof of anything more than your imagination and wilful ignorance of accepted science.

The Tides ARE standing waves. The two bulges ALWAYS remain ~STANDING under the advancing moon, lifted by it's gravity for the close one, and lifted by centrifugal force and least Moon-effect for the FAR one.

In the second case, for waves of equal amplitude traveling in opposing directions, there is on average no net propagation of energy.

twitch, of course it could be argued that gravity is another form of acceleration, and that the peculiar shape of the gravity gradient under the MOON +or- the solar presence, is an accelration that is stationary under the moon, and it is this acceleration that is perceived as moving, a lifting seen as tides., because -- 'as the world turns'.

It's not argued, it's established and accepted fact by minds greater than mine, to which I provided evidence.

Well, prologos was completely wrong regarding tides occuring as a result of standing waves i.e. constructive/destructive wave interference. The fact there was no evidence provided to back up the assertion and that the incorrect terminology, understanding and inability to reexamine his position was rather telling. This precedent should be considered in subsequent claims of "understanding" and "education"

As for this topic, clearly there is resonance in musical instruments and a correlation to standing wave theory is valid.

So, 1 for 2 on specific examples. As for the new age woo, let the buyer beware...

Tides are a function of gravity.

There is no mention of standing wave phenonmena with regard to forces that cause tides.

There is mention of standing waves in areas due to tidal and other currents interfering but this is dependant on localized features, and is not a global cause or effect.

it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.

if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

after leaving the cult of jw's or waking up to ttatt, it is a struggle to trust people again.

i am personally starting from scratch although i am still in.

each moment i spend with my current jw friends, i know they are all smiles and loving towards me because of my good status with the wt.. outside a cult you still find fake people and it is also a struggle to find true friends and it is even worst when we've been hit hard from people we used to trust and care for.. .

it's a bit challenging to grasp but it's very interesting.

if there is life on this higher dimensions, they could see us yet we would be unable to see them.

Is there anything you could do forever that wouln't get boring?

not sure when i came to this conclusion but i can't imagine living forever.

after a while i think i would be completly bored with everything.. not saying i wouln't like to live for a few hundred years or maybe even a few thousand if i could travel through space and discover other universes star trek style.

but the thought of living forever sounds like it would eventually become a complete drag.. maybe i'm wrong, maybe after a thousand years or so you would foregt all the stuff that happend at the beginning and just start over in an infinite loop..

Even if I could live forever I still wouldn't understand women, but I doubt it would ever get boring ;)

Forever is a long time. I'd give it a shot. As has been said, there is much to learn and forgetting, human.

But in the long run, the likelihood of a malicious, accidental or tsunami induced death makes forever seem improbable. This assumes a less than perfect world, which isn't a stretch. To think otherwise seems fanciful...
