If I were still in the religion (which thankfully I’m not) the Witnesses would have yet another reason to dislike me: I never got the coronavirus vaccine.
I know of a couple of JWs who regret having been talked into getting it.
it came to my attention that the covid-19 vaccine works by editing the genetic code of the mitochondrial dna, using gene therapy.. you should seriously question the moral implications of allowing a part of your dna to be modified.
does anyone have any concerns about this?if anyone has any questions, i can do my best to explain.
i personally find it very suspicious how they chose to word it, and conveniently inform us of this fact "after" people have taken the vaccine..

yes, there’s a post on reddit.
it says that after a zoom meeting a request was made to baptized publishers to give $20 apiece to fix this elder’s car.. while this sounds highly irregular to me and not necessarily approved by the religion, i am not at all surprised at the nerve.
this, unfortunately, seems to be the direction that things are going there!
EXBETHELITENOWPIMA & PHIZZY:
It makes me positively ill to read about JWs who leave money to the religion and leave their flesh and blood children penniless. This is why I’m so grateful I wasn’t raised in this religion.
I would feel disowned.. If that were my parents they’d better not imagine I would be there to have anything to do with them in their old age.. They’d better go ask the religion they esteem so highly to take care of them! What a rude awakening they will have.
As far as pioneers (who never wanted to work) having envelopes with cash shoved under their door: it wouldn’t have come from me.. (You don’t knock people for working and then ask them for money! It doesn’t work that way.) When I was In, I never gave anything to these deadbeats.
As time goes on and there are fewer types to give charity to these willfully unemployed Witnesses, I guess reality is going to hit them. I have No pity.

Very good posts and stories!👍🏻
I would never presume to tell anybody else what they should do. But, because of my bad experience in this hypocritical religion, I feel the way I do.
The culture, mentality and teachings of the JW religion are at fault here: ..‘No college, No career and Jehovah will provide’. And persecution of any who didn’t listen to this nonsense.. There’s no accountability, just a whole lot of victims and it’s all covered up.
One poster claims that ‘after the older responsible people are gone’ that younger people have been/will step up and give money.. I wonder how long this can go on for? We are talking about many needy in the JW religion! There must be a vast number around the globe including those who have reached retirement age unprepared who fell for the teaching of not getting careers/decent jobs!.. Does anybody really think the few kind souls just getting by are going to support them - in a religion with no social programs?
There’s not much more to say except I am Glad I walked away from the Witness religion. Even though my reasons had to do with 1995, the situation in the congregations now is reason enough to make me run.

LITTLE ROCK GUY:
Your thoughts echo mine exactly and I’ve made many posts on the subject. I would not be polite either in this circumstance.
I wouldn’t be Retired if I listened to the religion - urging me to quit my full-time job to take up housecleaning and pioneering. Thankfully I refused - but they made sure I was ostracized and not invited anywhere.. And I heard remarks of ‘not spiritual’ or ‘materialistic’.. So, even though I’m Out, I have No tolerance even for the idea of Witnesses asking for money. They can go fly a kite.
I hate being right all the time but this story just shows the sad direction things are going in the religion. 👎

I wonder what they are going to do when more older Witnesses pass away and there are yet fewer responsible people to even ask money from? 👎
this has been announced on the jw's official website, in the "jw news" section.
this is not a joke.
anthony moron da turd is out as a gluttonous body member!
DROPOFFYOURKEYLEE:
Interesting speculation as to whether AM3 is really out because he needs expensive medical care. Only time will tell if this is true.
FFGHOST & EXBETHELITENOWPIMA:
I am sorry about the couple that got their minuscule amount of Social Security because they only worked ten years. That’s how it works unfortunately.
I also went out ‘early’ at 62. But, since I worked for decades and thankfully never listened to Witnesses telling me to quit and do housecleaning, I get a decent benefit, etc.
All these people booted out of bethels is obviously sad but it only adds to the large amount of needy people already in congregations around the world! And we all know why they are needy.. What does all this say for the condition of the congregations and the feelings of desperation within?.. Not a situation I would want to be around!
putting this under "friends" because i couldn't figure out where to put it.
it is very often on here and in ex jw videos, ect that people like to undermine some of those who once we would have called friends.
there seems to be a view that window washers, plumbers, cleaners, construction workers are somehow less intelligent than those who may be college educated.
TONUS OH:
You pretty much touched on the mentality that Witnesses had: ‘..we would enjoy salvation while those smarter people (i.e. those with college/white collar jobs) died at Armageddon’.
This arrogance (with nothing to back it up except hot air) is why Witnesses with trades made themselves out to be superior to somebody with college/white collar job.
Again, nobody is knocking these perfectly okay trades jobs. The problem is (1) that JWs (with no credentials) acted as if they could counsel people on serious matters that should be left to professionals.. Also, (2) the mistaken stand of ‘superiority’ led these JWs to knock people like me who didn’t follow their example.. I’m sure all those pioneers who cleaned years ago felt morally superior to me.. Well, I hope they can pay their bills now.
Getting back to the OP: I hope this makes it clear about the origin of this issue.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH:
I understand your point.
Unfortunately, what you have seen with regard to insults about ‘window washers’, ‘housecleaning’, etc. is a backlash against Witnesses who had these jobs in the congregation but who stupidly knocked other Witnesses that had college or white collar jobs.. They acted as though theirs was the only ‘approved’ 🙄work.. And in the eyes of jealous, judgmental Witnesses it was.
In the Witness religion there is/was a terrible bias with regard to college educated and/or those who had decent white collar jobs. (God forbid if you’re a woman.) SO, this is why the insults against the types of work you mention are plentiful and in some cases well-deserved.. In my opinion, the JWs have brought it on themselves with their wrong attitudes, envy and ignorant bias.
i am starting a new topic since this blog entry is about something different.. i have posted before about my recent split with the jws.
no exit comes out of nowhere and there were seeds planted long before this.
i have never enjoyed field service.
BETH SARIM:
Thanks. While there are some ‘JW victims’ out there who supported themselves like I did until retirement - I tend to think they are few and far between.
I wondered if most younger Witnesses back then caved into all the peer pressure - while my ‘worldly’ upbringing saved me perhaps.. I also don’t see myself as a ‘victim’ the way other JWs are.. After all, I did not listen and I continued working.. I let their talk go in one ear and out the other.
It certainly doesn’t matter now who ‘hated’ or disapproved of me decades ago.. Many have passed away while others are struggling because they followed bad advice.. Likewise, how would it matter now if a broke pioneer got invited to gatherings and dinners back then?? Is it going to pay their bills now?
Any lurkers reading this had better look out for themselves and learn from other’s mistakes.
any opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.
what's your gut feeling?
SYDBARRETT:
This is very sad and unless by some miracle they are rescued - then the Titanic will have more victims.
Stupid ventures like this should be made illegal. You couldn’t pay me enough money to get into a claustrophobic contraption and go into some death zone!
