  New Article on JW.org about gay people

  ok, sometimes i go to jw.org just to laugh a bit about the 'food at the proper time', and i would like to know what people think of this hillarious article 'am i attracted to the same sex.

  does that mean i am gay?'.

  this has to be one of the most remarkable pieces of logic (last paragraph of the article).. the bibles stand is not unreasonable.

  Was There Anything A JW Said That Made You Raise Your Eyebrows?

  we had an elderly pioneer/ms in our hall and he used to like to rattle the elders.

  he liked using the "n" word in his comments.

  he one time started to comment about the "ni##er pool" that he would observe among the poorer blacks.

  Bizarre comment about jw.org at SAD

  recently attended a sad.. bethel speaker was gushing about the wt's embrace of new technology, in the part of his talk warning about "apostate" web sites.. a loose summary of his comments:.

  "and the brothers at headquarters have made it very safe for you to go to our website.

  in fact, the brothers talked to the folks at google, and they made a special arrangement so that when you type in 'j w period' into the google search engine, it automatically shows you the jw.org website.

  note that the other sites displayed by google were jwleaks.org and jwsurvey.org

  notice anything?

  If I was creating a new site now I would seriously consider having jw in the domain and using the .org TLD

  Same goes for Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Facebook, Instagram etc - grab jworg as a username wherever you can and add lots of content.

  Not sure if Paul at jwfacts might consider swapping his primary domain to the .org he already has????

  my 0.02 (13 years experience working on 'something to do with the Internet')

  1 - Typing "jw." will autocomplete to jw.org in google.com. Unfortunately for the WTS typing "jw" autocompletes for 'jw pepper'. Thats why they are making the big deal about the period. https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/106230?hl=en On google.co.uk "jw" autocompletes for "jw3" leading to jw3.org.uk - again "jw." autocompletes for jw.org.

  2 - There is a slight nuance if you look closely. Type "jw." (don't hit enter) and it will autocomplete for jw.org and also display the Results Page with jw.org listed first. The second result shown is for jwleaks.org and then jwsurvey.org. Its only when you hit enter you will see jwpepper.com, jwpet.com etc. So every person typing "jw." and then looking down into the Results will be visually exposed to apostate sites. Dangerous this internet thing.

  3 - The WTS don't need to and will not have paid Google anything for the above. jw.org is already the number 1 entry on the Results Page (beating jwpepper.com into 2nd place on google.com and jackwills.com on google.co.uk). Note the difference between SERP (Search Engine Results Page) and autocomplete.

  4 - The WTS may indeed have had an advisory conversation with Google - you can too - just call them up and ask how to get your site listed - 1-866-2GOOGLE - they will try and sell you ad-space of course, but you can tell everybody you "talked to Google about your site placement". <wink wink>

  I would expect in time that "jw" without the period will autocomplete to jw.org on most Google properties - jw.org is an extremely large site with high traffic and thats only going to grow as the WTS funnels more visitors towards it. The speaker at the SAD has been misinformed if he thinks this is a special arrangement with Google - its just the way autocomplete works.

  A Tug on the Leash (The Authority Which the GB Wields Over the R&F)

  recently, several comments have been made in various threads in reference to some of the recent changes to a few of the rules by which jehovah's witnesses must live their lives in unquestioning compliance.

  the assertion has been made that these rules are a "relaxing" of previous restrictions.

  the suggestion has been made that this somehow indicates a corresponding relaxing or loosening or lessening of the authority which the governing body (gb) holds over the rank and file (r&f) members of the religion.

  They are first exerting control over those nearest them in the hierarchy - bethelites being kicked to the curb, branches being closed and redeveloped.

  Next up - the regional structure is being re-worked with new assembly day names and timings. A few new titles being thrown around.

  Then the elders - new book, new school, new videos, new procedures for this and that.

  Last up - joe and jane publisher - new bible to read, new book store cart, new website to visit. New tract campaign.

  All to give the illusion of meaning. When in fact the net net difference is zero. No armageddon, no pet lions, no oversized vegetables and no MacMansions on the lake.

  Will be interesting to see how these dictators seek control in the virtual world. They have embraced the Internet for their own purposes - will they seek to establish an alternative Internet centred around JW.org? Will they 'bless' Facebook and Twitter and offer people the chance to login into JWN with their virtual identity? Could be a new loyalty test - like underlining your Watchtower for Sunday just so others can see.

  Smart dictators are realising you can't ban stuff effectively. (N Korea is the sole exception) Look at China for how I think the WTS will play this. Yes the Internet, but with information control alive and well.

  Did JWN Discredit "JehovahIsJudgeUk" website?

  they use poor reasoning, they wiggle around the question and ignore the fact the watchtower was affiliated with the united nations.

  this website fails to ignore the facts that we were not allowed to join the ymca even though we did not follow the charter rules, the watchtower agreed to follow the un charter and did so from 1992 to 2001 when the scandal was exposed.. .

  have any of you seen works to debunk their slanted arguments and dishonest play of words?.

  Argument with my Child "Why did I stay in the Organization so long?" Anger and Bitter Feelings.

  last night my third oldest child wanted to know why we stayed in the organization so long.

  child is a third year college student enjoying all the classes this "wicked system" has to offer, the insatiable appetite for learning makes him want to argue and debate, i don't have the energy to debate because i don't feel good with all life has thrown our way.. .

  "the only reason i went to meetings so long was because grandma and grandpa needed somebody to take them to meetings and cobe aunt and uncle and secretary aunt and uncle refused to talk to grandma for years, otherwise i would have stopped attending the kingdom hall because the kids were assholes and i was always the one who had to make "first contact", "i was the one who had to go around and meet and greet newbies while the regular jw wall-flowers (calebs) ignored all the visitors and new persons visiting our kingdom hall.
