shouldn't we wait till we're 30+ to be baptized?
by annalice ini believe we were taught that jesus was around thirty years old when he was baptized.
now i was always told that the bible mentioned specific things like times and dates for a reason .as a guide for us to follow.
so by telling us his age this would seem to be very important for us .

Yeuppers... I agree with you 100% on this. I was 16 when I was baptized and in my area, that is getting pretty darn old...so you better get the deed done with or something is wrong with you!!!
I was the last one in my group of friends who got dunked, PLUS I wanted to date and that was a no, no unless you had "dedicated your life to the org." Ya, I guess I felt a bit pushed into it. Everyone was happy when I made my decision, no questions about if I was REALLY ready or mature enough.
But 2 years later when I wanted to get married at 18, it caused a big fuss....

our state lotto started today, and i won 15 dollars, and only bought 1 $1 card.
so whoop whoop for gambling.. i was in miami florida last week for the photoshop world conference, but i also got to tour the everglades, where i took some beautiful pictures.

Predictions....
by schne_belly inthe following is an e-mail my husband sent his youngest sister ( her and her husband are still in) after a few weeks of our family going back and forth between her and her husband trying to defend our actions and reason for leaving the religion.. patricks predictions (at the risk of alienating you even more):.
in 20 years the 'end' will still be "just around the corner" jws will still feel like theyre not doing enough, even though most of their energy was spent in the society's interests you will have cast off many more friends and family at the society's behest you will still feel like this world can't go on any longer what you believe today will not be relevant after 20 years of "new light" you will be upset that i dare to speak this way, determined to prove your faithfulness to a man-made organization .
