within the last month or so seen a bible verse i believe in Psalms having to do with the door to door work, and it seemed to indicated that we shouldn't be doing it. If anyone recalls this I wouold sure appreciate it and I don't mean about the feet being comely or any of that, or provers 25:17 either. I just can't recall the specifics of it. Put it in my files but was accidentally deleted. Any help would be very much appreciated.

The practice of "Shepherding Calls" (attention ex-elders)
by Lady Zombie inthe practice of "shepherding calls" has always been somewhat of a mystery to me.. growing up, a shepherding call was for jws who were doing something that a few/some/most (didn't matter which) found stumbling or suspicious.
for instance, i remember my folks gossiping to each other about a jw couple who had been sloughing off the meetings in order to go dancing.
one of the congregation members (who were absent themselves on a particular night) saw them going into a dance club on a meeting night and promptly ran to an elder.

Shepherding Calls are a joke 20= years in and have only had 3-4 total, thats it. They don't give a damn unless you come up on their hounder radar and if not, you don't exist as far as shepherding goes.

Welcome aboard KDubbz, and momzcrazy thanks for the Lee Greenwood a very hair raising thrilling rendition. Was wonderful to sit and watch the fireworks displays in varous parts of town, too bad the dubs dn't get to enjoy it, at least openly that is. They are so scared of having a good time on a holiday (at least openly) that its a shame.

special speaker from bethel/or do has to give a one man symposium during his prayer recapping every single moment of the past 3 days.. its like they have this formula that they use to determine how long a prayer should be.

It has bee a real drag listening to those concluding prayers, i.e. especially wheb something as crass as "we thank you for the joy of donating to the world wide preaching work" Jehovah, I mean my god they don't have a clue. and all the lemmings give a hearty amen after the end of it and clap till their hands hurt.

Sad but true out of all the funerals i have attended, have never seen anyone except for one or two family members ever cry, the supposed "brothers and sisters" who are supposed to have been sooooo loving and caring don't shed a tear.
