It was in the early to mid 90s that info came out I believe in a watchtower about where a lot of their doctrine actually came from, if anyone can steer me to where it is I would surely appreciate it. I can't remember my name sometime much less where that information would be. tks in advance.

Stuff like this is just urban legends, i remember on several occasions sisters (why is always seems to be them) wanted to get my opinion on a particular experience about i was able to logically descimate it and she agreeed with my analysis of it, this has happened several times but goies right over her head as she never gits it that they are making this stuff up.

I totally agree with you darkuncle we need to break up the supposed two party system, I don't believe any of them, especially Hillary and Obama we all know the old joke about just when it is a lawyer is lieing the same holds true for politicians who are lawyers also. Many on this board are Bush haters, and imo opinion don't want to do anything but bash him, i don't like him either, but he is the horse we as a country are riding now and we are stuck with him. November can't come soon enough.

missinglink, thanks for that, that is some of what I have thought about for years, numbers do lie. Statistics can also like. i.e. the percentage of growth of the WT vs the percentage of growth by the Catholics. its the total numbers that make the difference. I would like to see the percentage of loss of witnesses over the last 10-20 years and see that brought up at the meetings. They never mention the whole story, and having been an attendant I know personally they the individual congregations will at times fudge the numbers of attendees. I.e. at one memorial the attendance figures myself an two other attendants came up with afte4r counting the attendance 3 x's was 50 people short of the attendance reported by our congregation. The numbers were definitely fudged. The society is lead by lawyers ,the will lie to hide the real facts.

Which meeting did you hate the most?
by lfcviking infor me it was the tuesday night book study.
i didn't like reading, opening/closing with prayers and the uncomfortable, close, claustrophobic setting it was in.
this meeting was the first one to be binned when i started to fade.

I hated em all, the congregation book study is at best extremely boring, lets read revelation and find out that everything written in it is about the nerds in crooklyn. Give me a break they get the deer in the headlights look whenever you bring something up about what they are saying and show it to be impossible or not true or the real purpose of it. (i.e. Millions Now Living Will Never Die) then they try to quickly change the subject.
Wt recitals very boring, same ole comments from the same ole people who havent reasoned anything out in years.
Thursday night mtg TMS was a joke. the sales meeting is only that regardless of what they would like to think.

all this whining and griping, the man has a right to run whether we like it or not, it is still america and not being run by the borg just yet. As far as fixing the election, pleeezzz!!! Whomever is elected, there are going to be some of us who won't like them, I sure won't put other people down because of who they vote for, that is so much like being at the hall do it our way or your an apostate crap, come on people everyone has a right to vote for whom they think (sincerely hope) will do a better job. If there is any kind of fix in, its the process whereby we are stuck with voting for the people now running. That is the fix, why can't we vote for whom we really want???

IMO, Hillary is nothing short of a socialist (i.e. communist), I don't hate her perse, but i do hate he brand of politics. She isn't experienced enought to be president. Miedical care, well then get a job and get some or get an additional job and pay for it. It isn't my responsibility to pay taxes so some one can get medical care get it yourself, I did. and you can too.

i was not worthy for such functions, unlike the usual suspects: pioneers, bethelites, the single elderly sister who pioneered despite her illnesses, etc.

Believe me when you are a witness, you are "in" the drama. You live it everytime you are around them, recall any of their supposed truths, or even speak to one of them, the drama is, "you can never speak how you reall feel without putting yourself in line to be ostrasized. That in and of itself is the drama of being a witness.

Asked a deep question to my father last night

Alex Delta, there is no way I would call them back, if they are really interested they can get off of their backside and drive down, or travel to whereever you are and find out for themselves, if you haven't talked with them in x amount of years and he can't answer a simple question then the hell with em.
