Wow!!! I can't believe you just said that!

Well my point is that I think (I get to put my thoughts out there also) that the discussion reached a point of impasse.

And naturally it began to take a darker turn. Nobody was convincing anybody of anything anymore.

I started to read about people questioning motives and character of others here.

It just didn't seem to me that the discussion was any longer productive.

And as I stated above, all our discussions here are not going to determine anything.

The only question is can this argument withstand the scrutiny of the judicial process. That can only be answered by the duly appointed legal representatives.

However, I think it is similar in that a lot of people are turning this away when it is a good thing because they were expecting the Org Killer...

i have been a jw all my life, my sister and i are now in our late twenties and are so unhappy and after desparate attempts to keep up meeting attendance are not spiritually motivated.

we in last few weeks have found some very disturbing things in our search such as the un involvement.

after research on these things and use of the wt library the society speaks for it's self on these issues calling the un the "disgusting thing" that the book of daniel spoke about(wt 85' para.

Well here is the way I think about it. There are most assuredly people who are truly dedicated (but perhaps mistaken) to Jehovah and in possession of repentant hearts outside the org.

Additionally, there are unquestionably people who are within the JW who are not truly dedicated to Jehovah and in possession of a repentant heart.

So you must ask yourself, would Jesus have a pure or impure organization for the sake of making it visibly human? Isn't it more likely that Jesus is interested in those that have truly repented and come to him for salvation?

Does it make sense that Jesus would grant salvation to those who have not repented but were in the right group? Does it make sense that he would destroy his faithful ones just because they mistakenly

I therefore think the one true group is all of those who have repented from sin and practiced faith in him.

it's 7 a.m. here in the east coast, and so far i haven't seen any news on t.v.

about the "big news".

so, to make it easier to find, i thought we could use one thread to keep track of any news that comes out in the next few days.

Don't expect a flash and a fireball on this one. This will be a slow burn. It might take a better part of this year.

Then a slow news cycle will hit.

Then it could take off like a runaway train that nobody can control or stop. There are huge forces that have been penned up and held at bay for a long time. If/When this goes, it will take on a life of it's own.

All we have right now is potential. This will be what we make it.

I am going to send the news to our local rag that did a flowery write up on the JW convention.

i think it is extremely likely that a law suit will be brought up soon.. 2. if a single news outlet thinks they can make a single dime telling this story, they will tell the story!.

i think this is where it is our responsibility to do everything we can to make the above extremely likely pending lawsuit known to the press.. 3. if any lawyer wins a single dime in a law suit against the wt, all the other lawyers will notice this and they will sue!.

The bottom line is someone needs to win a case. Once that happens, hilarious hijinx ensue.

There are so many pissed off at the wt, and there are so many dumb juries out there.

If some lady can get 20M for spilling a cup of coffee on herself, I just can't believe there won't be a little scratch for someone who lost a loved one because the wt misrepresented facts.

This is going to happen. There will be a spark. There is plenty of tinder.

Someone just has to blow on it and it will go up in a huge fireball that consumes everything in it's path.

Tell me it won't hurt membership if there is nightly news exposes on the lies and abuse.

Tell me people won't leave. Tell me people won't start slamming more doors in faces.

Sure some will stay. Those will be the dumbest, most brainwashed, most repulsive.

Like I said, time will tell.

But think of all the family members who are not JWs that lost family members due to the WTS policy. Think of all the non-JW family members fighting to have a blood transfusion administered to a JW family member.

The beauty of this is that we are going to find out EXACTLY how many people died. Courts of law are public and solicit facts. These facts are going to become known. I think they are going to become widely known. This could turn into a feeding frenzy. Remember Jim and Tammy Bakker? One little spark brought down their whole rotten house of cards. Once the press smells blood and a good story, they won't let up until someone dies or goes to jail.

This is going to be huge on so many levels: fincancial, long drawn out public exposure, and of course....

membership.
