i once turned in 39 hours helping another to reach their pioneer goal.

i know this is an old topic, but there are many new ones onboard so here goes..... i went to the book study (it's been more than a year since i last had the pleasure)... revelation book chapter 39 paragraphs 1-13. when paragraph 13 finally comes around...... 13 does this mean that jehovahs witnesses are against all government?

they obey the apostle pauls counsel: "let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities.

" they realize that as long as the present system lasts, those "superior authorities" exist by gods permission for maintaining a measure of order in human society.

Summer BTW when I say these people have always supported me I meant just the 10 or so that attend this book study......most of the congregation do the polite smile and handshake then walk away from me.

Summer....I've known the ones that attend this book study (mostly older ones) for 20 years. "Calling out the reader or conductor wouldn't have done anything but "sadden" them. These people are special to me they have ALWAYS supported me in the years ( I'm the rebel) in the congregation. When I asked one older sister about the new BS arrangement she said, "Hell I'm not going to that meeting I have a hard time getting someone to pick me up for the Sunday meeting." By the way the avatar is a "spitting" image of me...ooops....there I go streching the truth.

13 Does this mean that Jehovah’s Witnesses are against all government? Far from it! They obey the apostle Paul’s counsel: "Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities." They realize that as long as the present system lasts, those "superior authorities" exist by God’s permission for maintaining a measure of order in human society. Thus, Jehovah’s Witnesses pay their taxes, obey the laws, respect traffic ordinances, comply with registrations, and so forth. (Romans 13:1, 6, 7) Further, they follow Bible principles in being truthful and honest; showing love of neighbor; building a strong, moral family unit; and training their children to be exemplary citizens.In this way they pay back not only "Caesar’s things to Caesar, but God’s things to God." (Luke 20:25; 1 Peter 2:13-17)

the pompous "reader" says, " Our lawyers have USED goverments to get what we need to continue our preaching work worldwide." The conductor then pipes in, "Sometimes our guys have to STRETCH THE TRUTH in order to get what we want. This is NOT LYING because it serves Jehovah's purposes."

I've been lied to by the BOE a number of times. I'm so glad that I finally have been told that I've actually been stretched the truth by them instead.

CO Visit: Why Such A Big Deal?

i wasn't raised a jw, but my wife was and everytime the co makes a visit to our congregation for a week - we had to make sure nothing was going to interrupt our meeting attendance.

vacation planned that week?

Thanks Blondie.

Of course, jw congregations who share a kingdom hall, never have any battles?! I went to several congregations that shared that talked about the lack of spirituality of the other congregation, how they did not pull their weight financially, how one congregation got stuck with the maintenance and cleaning, etc., etc.

Overheard the PO refer to the Spanish brothers as "those people" when he was complaining how that congregation wasn't paying their share of the hall costs. Since then "those people" stayed in that building, (across the parking lot) and have grown into 3 congregations, while the mostly "caucizoid" congregation remains stagnant.

let's start a list of reasons why you were told, or overheard people telling, won't make it through the big a day.

i'll start.. 1. they don't take showing up for cleaning the kingdom hall seriously and never show up.

i overheard a sour puss old elder say this to his wife after he just gave a scolding talk on it.

one) theocratic ministry school will shortened till it is finally replaced by the congregation book bible study.. two) field service hours will no longer need to be reported and over time no records on similar things will be reported.. three) the public edition of the watchtower will cease to exist leaving awake as the sole placement.

which will be little more than a tract..

I have to agree with Mary on all three points. The "white lie slips" will never be done away with, because it's a signed statement verifing your "commanded" service to Jehovah. "Privledges" depend on mantaining national averages. Also agree that the public WT is nothing more than an Awake magazine it may be dropped to save some cash.

i was just looking through the june 15 study wt and on page 9 at the bottem of paragraph 10 it says.... additional "disgusting things" include acts of pedophilia and other forms of sexual immorality committed by clergymen and tolerated by the church authorities.

is it any wonder that jehovah god will soon rid this earth of false religion?.
