  ok so i have pissed my wife off today, but i couldn't hold my tongue on this one.

  we are going bowling tonight and she had on this sweatshirt that her daughter (also jw) gave her from college.

  i was talking to two elders yesterday..... i was confronted about the whole "bad associations" question.

  i asked them what "bad associations" were.

  they have no idea what bad associations are to the author, only their opinions and the opinions of their chosen leaders.

  Umm sorry, totally off this subject. When does House come on? I have seen it once and liked it.

  House is a moving target, and it's appearing formulaic. Weird medical problem, House's first test fails, his helpers have a better idea that fails, finally he's working on one patient (usually something piddly) when a word he says or hears triggers "the answer". Sure enough, that's it, and it's a combination of everyone's ideas from the beginning.
  
  I loved that formula for one show, but I hope they invent a new one. *cross fingers* (oops: posted from Gina's computer! [Nobody tell on me, 'k?])

  Am I only encouraging JWs?

  when i go to this one store, i usually stop into the laundromat next door to it about once a week and pull out all of the awakes and watchtowers.

  there used to usually be about 3 or 4 per week.

  now, it seems that they are putting more and more in there.

  Why do anything? Do you pull out everything else from all other groups that you don't agree with?

  Yea, seeing the mags is annoying but so is seeing PETA phamplets in similar situations, but I don't take the time to counter-attack by taking everything they leave laying around and throwing it away. I've got better things to do with my time than worry about what a bunch of whackos leave laying around.

  Well, if you have a "mission" in life for making the actual truth to be known, and you have tried other ways "warning" others...I can see doing it. Now, I'm lazy, but I think it's a brilliant idea. I will tell anyone that I meet that seems to not think there is anything "wrong" with JW's how I was one and how I'm not anymore and why. I have saved so much info when I was going through my search that I keep, just in case I run across someone that is thinking about becoming trapped in the cult.

  Since I'm a bird behaviorist...my personal "mission" would be informing ones with birds. So, if I saw a mag. flier or such, flat out lie on how to take care of parrots...I'd cross it out and add the true info and direction on where to go and get the correct information.

  I had that "itch" over the weekend.

  you know the feeling...seperation anxiety.

  after that relationship with that "woman" went down the toilet i noticed one creepy thing.

  i had way too much time on my hands.

  Yes, I think Dave gets a chuckle out of it as well...and so do I...to a point. But it was a lesson that taught me that real "pay back" comes at you one way or another.

  I still love her,but telling her would'nt work. I tried, and all she said was," Yeah, well...you'll get over it. They all do."

  See what I mean? I finally came to the realization that I was used as a stepping stone emotionally. And I loved every minuite of it.....

  until last week.

  It sounded like you did...but, like others have said, there are "other fish to catch". And you sound like you have a good heart and soul. So true love will come eventually. My advice would be to try to move on (which I'm sure will be hard) and get out there and find the "right" person. Who knows, she may be doing you a favor and you'll find a person that's "right for you". And take back control of your "self" being...don't be the stepping stone. And don't become a person that steps on others (which sounds like you wouldn't anyway), but protect yourself from being trampled on. To me, she sounds like she's made her decission...and I'm sorry you have to go through this, but you will get through it.

  Anyway, good luck. You deserve a happy life...we all do.

  Hi JoJo,

  I'm sorry for your broken heart...but it sounds like you still love her, from what I've read. If you do, have you told her this? Can you?

  I'm going to be the "hated" one on here with what I'm about to post...but I think it should be said. If you scratch, lose or hide the CD on purpose (assuming it's in your possession) and if it's hers it does several things. First, it creates "hate" in your heart that may have not been there or even make the "hate" more intensified. And who wants to live in hate? Hate only creates negative feelings that can mess you up for quite a while. Second, destroying something that's not yours can and will sometimes bite in the ass later. For example, I broke one of Dave's (aka AlmostAtheist) rocket launchers out of anger to "get him back". But after we reconciled I have felt very bad from then on. Even after I bought him another one, and he doesn't think about it, to this day it makes me feel bad for losing control. At the time it "felt" good to get even...but I'm paying for it even now.

  This is just my humble opinion...take it for what it's worth.

  Ok, now I'll quietly sneak back out..

  hahaah... that's really funny. It's also rediculous but a little too funny to be mad at for a long time.

  Hehehe, if your talking about my post (I think there is a misunderstanding) I'm not pissed and haven't been since my teenage years. I just remember we (being hormonal teenagers) were very pissed waaaay back then... I actually get a good laugh at it. Sort of became a "fond" memory for me. I think it's soooooo funny.

  i have found a lot of people no longer believe in god or jesus since leaving the organization.. im very shocked at this.

  if you dont believe, can you tell me what brought to that conclusion?.

  i was told to look at the thread that one of the members in this forum has created, they are very interesting, but i wanted to get a some feed back from different individuals.. thanks!

  Ok, story telling time.

  Well, you know the song "Lady In Red"? That was a hot song during my teenage years. One of my friend's mother said that it was not morally clean because of the lyrics

  "The lady in red is dancing with me
  Cheek to cheek
  There's nobody here
  It's just you and me"

  After her mom told my mom and my mom told other moms...it was "banned" from us teenagers because they "apparently" was dancing naked and they were not married..

  Ok...now COME ON...how in the hell did they get all of that. Today, I laugh pretty hard about, but back then we were pissed.
