at your congregation did it ever seem that the literature counter had nothing in stock except for a lot of the basics (armageddon revelation book, evolution book, brochures, cheap nwts, and what's being studied).

what made me think of this was someone saying posting about how the elders wait until the last minute to hand out the kms.

do you think they do the same kind of thing with the literature?.

What made me think of this was someone saying posting about how the elders wait until the last minute to hand out the KMs. Do you think they do the same kind of thing with the literature?

Also whenever you ordered something, it took well over two months to get there. What's up? You'd think that Jehover's (you know, I knew an NZ elder who used to say Jehover all the time ) organization with its light planes and semi-trucks would be able to haul all this in a timely matter. It would be interesting if someone with inside experience as to how this works would post.

i have a question was wondering if anyone knew the answer to... .

i rent month to month.. have been here 8 years... the person who owns the property came by last night to inform me and others that the rent has went up $70 and is to be added to march 1st payment.. what i am wondering is.... it seems that he should have gave us a months notice before it went into effect.. do you know if that is the law or not?...

i live in indiana if that helps... .

I was looking through some of the pictures of Stan and July's Theocratic Vacation, and I was creeped out, yet at the same time laughing. I noticed in one of the pics. that there was a complete, mint condition set of those series of books made by Russell, one of them being the
"Divine Plan" book.

I would sure like to swipe that set.

I'm an undergrad with no job at all. I would like one though, because I'm broke (but I don't think anyone wants to hire a person working less than 17 hours a week).

JWs and Clothing

where i live, its not usual for people to "dress up," especially business people and executives, you are more likely to see them with a button up shirt, khakis, and one of those fleece vests on.

so, on the whole, jws look very out of place wearing their cheap suits (though a few elders didn't wear cheap suits and they made that known, "look at this, i got a spot on my new $200 designer shirt" -- really, something like this happened).

but what i did notice is that, in my area, dressing guidelines usually weren't followed, or enforced for that matter, for good looking women.

Assembly times was also the time in which all modesty left for most good looking girls. I remember one time at this assembly, I saw the most beautiful redhead you've ever seen; and let me tell you, she wore the epitomy of the "sexy, little black dress."

Anyone else notice this, or am I just a teenager who's off his rocker (that term's more meaningful for a senior citizen, though)?

I can clearly remember the phrase that made me hate the JW mindset... "avoid independent thinking." I believe it was in the KM and in numerous other places.
