There were times when Jesus was worshipped. Jesus did not tell the worshippers “don’t do that, worship God alone” Would His not doing so, be, at the least, disrespectful to God? Unless, He was fully entitled to such worship?

I was at a lecture once, where the speaker demonstrated, from the scriptures, that there were indeed scriptures where ho theos was used for Jesus. I do not have the time to search for that information, but at the time, I did follow along with his argument, and was convinced that ho theos did apply to Jesus, as well as the Father.

I think there are some on the forum who could probably cite those scriptures.

Dissociated family excluded from funeral services

apparently, disassociated relatives are not allowed to be in the procession lines at kingdom hall services.

they can attend but they cannot be with their relatives to receive condolenses.

this happened recently to someone whose aunt had passed away.

Yes, I have. My oldest sister died last fall, she had eloped with a soldier during the second world war and stopped associating with the witnesses, by her husbands demand. She was never df'ed or da'ed, they just left her alone.

At the viewing and funeral my relatives came, almost all JWs, they ignored me, as I was one side of the room, and they of course, used the other side of the room. My sisters children tried to be fair to both me and the JW family. They would first visit with one side for a while and then the other. I was just one person so of course it was a little, understandably, unbalanced.

The same general behavior happened at the hospital before she died.

In the past several years I have had two (maybe more) uncles die, one was my mothers brother (claimed to be annointed) and one was my fathers brother (never a JW) In both cases, since almost all of my family are JWs, my JW family were contacted. In both cases, I was not told. I learned about the the non-JW uncle from the newspaper, after the funeral was over.

You think these things are bad? I could tell of much worse. So in answer to your question, yes, these things do definately happen.

I think you are leaving out the fact that Jesus, took on human form, a little lower than the angels. At times He spoke from the human point of view, such as when He said, "the Father is greater than I" of course in the human form "a little lower than the angels" the Father would be greater than He. That would be true also when He called God, the Only True God. When He would again take the form of God, those words would no longer have the same meaning.

another question.. this one is for all those that began doubting the organisation when they were an obedient jw.. although i am sure you rarely shared it with anyone, what was the one problem you had with a certain jw only doctrine?.

what i mean is, what little gremlins lurked at the back of your mind?

what were the doubts that you kept hidden and what made you finally act on them?.

I had some problems with teachings as I was growing up, but serious doubts started when I was much older. I started reading the bible every day, I was determined to be a much better witness. I could not find scriptural answers to support 1914, or 144,000, or 1935 being a date Jehovah closed the door on heaven.

Later I heard about Ray Franz's book telling about the inner workings of the governing body. I was told we were not to read the book, but I thought to myself, the whole world can read about what goes on in OUR governing body, but WE, who are in the organization, cannot. So I ordered the book and read it.

After reading the book I could not accept the differences in the way the WT dealt with Malawi and Mexico. Also, I could not accept, that the witnesses in Mexico, had to pretend to be a cultural group, to keep WT property, instead of being a religious group as we were, in the US. Then many doubts started, as I researched more and more.
