really think it has messd my ex boyfriends head up so much, hes very paranoid, he gets wound up easily, he finds it hard to express his feeling, he finds it hard to make friends, he was insecure, very unsure about what he wanted to do in life (because the next life was more important) and he always thought (that i found very strange) that the government was always against him!!
That sounds a lot like many JWs I have known. They are taught that because they are "the only true religion" that the governments, (which they claim are run by Satan the Devil) are against them. JWs expect to be persecuted and take any criticism as being persecution.
I believe that the insecurity, paranoia and inability to express himself comes from being a member of a high-control group/cult. JWs are programmed from birth to do whatever their leaders tell them to do and to shun anyone who is outside of their organization. I am surprised that he was even dating you since dating a non-JW is a big no-no. He probably broke up with you because he is being told that Satan is using you as a way to keep him from "the truth". He is completely brainwashed, there is little you can do about it, he needs to leave on his own.
You seem like a really nice girl and you don't deserve to be treated badly by anyone. View this as a learning experience and move on. Look for someone who cares about you and respects you for who you are.
