Christ's Judging, Sheep and Goats
The WT has attempted to cover over Christ's failure to do anything they wanted him to do over the years by claiming a type of "gradual enthronement." When he failed to bring an end to the world at his supposed enthronement in 1914, they later claimed he had not yet exercised full kingship in the sense of JUDGING the earth. Up until the current Watchtower, they claimed that Christ became king over the Christian congregation in 33 C.E., then became king over the whole world in 1914, and then began judging the "remnant" of Christ's brothers (favorably) and Christendom (unfav-orably), and began separating the sheep and the goats for judgment.
Now, although still retaining the "judging of Christendom," Christ is said to have "judicially inspected" the "anointed remnant," and the separating of the sheep from the goats has not yet begun. The "separating" supposedly starts at the "great tribulation," SOON to come.

but where ive underlined, dont jws believe jesus doesnt judge its Jehovah, is this a mistake with the article?
also its written that noone knows the time not even the son only the father?
so anyone that makes a prediction is a false prophet? i just thought people in the org made assumtions about the date (thats what i was told/taught).
it wasnt til i came here that i realised the wts has been lobbing dates at its members like hand grenades.

just one question can someone please clarify the 'generation that sees the beginning will see the end' theory. did the WTS kill this idea or what, did they say its not a literal generation? i put this on another thread but got no replies, I would love it if some of you researchaholics could tell me what you find.

now i see in the latest W/T theyre likening our time to the days of noah with 120 years being the period between warning and flood. giving themselves nother 30 years to play with. that should see out the GBs retirement plans.

reinstatement

hi does anyone know what the procedure is for reinstatement?

sugar, this person IS your friend, however, this person has been in the JW environment, which entales having little to no association with non witnesses thus almost every friend this person has made over at least the past few years is in the JW org. when him or her was disfellowshipped these friends became a powerful tool used against them by the orginisation to conform and return. The enormity of this cannot be concieved by most,as ALL your witness friends and quite possibly some/all of your family are shunning you, this person would most certainly be looking at every possible way of reentering the witnesses even if it isnt their wish.

When i was disfellowshipped i wanted back in so bad for about a year and a half and it was really wearing me down but i had an old schoolmate that i had kept in contact with (very little when i was in the 'truth') when i was trying to get reinstated it was someone i could go for a surf with and forget my hassles and we wouldnt talk about spiritual things just normal everyday things. It was really refreshing and now I consider him as one of my best friends.

So i dont know if my story is applicable to you and your friend but if you can just go to a movie with this friend once a fortnight or something to put some normalcy back into their life then you might just save them and have a friend for life.

or you could just say call me when you stop sooking and sort your s##t out and we'll go for a beer

What if World War One never happened?

reading all these 1914 threads lately has made me think a lot more about my own feelings of the jw movement in the early years.

particularly how i feel they got kind of "lucky" that something big happened on whatever numbered prediction 1914 was for them.. we have all seen individuals ride out the rest of their sports, acting, etc.

careers on one big break.

i read something on this- the generation that sees the beginning will see the end- backpedal, what happened? I thought they still beleived in this. it shows that in australia we only get filtered down scraps of information but i think the smoke covered most of it and the mirrors took care of the rest.

so did they blame misinterpretation by the ranks or what.

i see they tried to buy another 30 years in the last watchtower study on Noah, how it was 120 years from Gods warning til the flood and we're only 90 years after 1914 how we must keep on the watch! man I cant take much more of their BS and i dont mean bible studies...

my little bro\best friend just got baptised at 20 Im not gonna wait til hes 50 to bring this up. I might just get the frustrated kid laid on his next visit and (how bad does this sound) hopefully he'll get d'd, hes starting to get into life and hes gonna waste it in there living in a box. but the most scary thing is if he needs a blood transfusion, i might just hijack the hospital and he can charge me with rape when hes better.

i was at his baptism, it was hard for me but i told him no matter what ive got his back. no matter what, i wouldnt let him die no way.
