with so many of us having gotten baptised at a young age and now dealing with the results of it.... it made me wonder how many decisions made at a young age still could and do affect your life.. example: when i was 14 i thought it was a good idea to marry this weird brother that was our land lord.
(thank goodness i was too young to do so) also, i thought it was a good idea to have pet monkeys....and a good idea to have my own apartment with several other young jw sisters...even thinking it would be a good idea to have babies.... i was too young to do any of those things...so i have no consequences from having those ideas....yet, getting dunked at that age was perfectly acceptable....and now i still pay the price.. are there any things you can think of that you would have done at a young age that could have made you pay for years to come?.
Married at age 18, emotionally stayed at that age for the course of my entire marriage (28 years)! I am now a 48 year old mature woman! Took a divorce and years of therapy to find myself. Still...........the consequences of all that was lost still haunt me!

it is little understood by christians what a difference there is between themselves and judaism; especially on the matter of whom god forgives and why.. a christian expects to sin against many people in the course of their life, but; proudly boasts that they aren't "perfect just forgiven.
" this is wrong by judaism's ethical, moral and theologic standards.. let me explain why.. in judaism; only the person you sin against can forgive you!.
if you steal from bob; only bob (the injured party) can forgive you.
Terry-----I need no forgiveness nor will I ask for it. I am learning to forgive self and also applaud self as it comes about. I think it makes me a more compassionate soul. I am saddened by my realization that must let go of a life time of belief. Belief in GOD, in PARADISE, in EVERLASTING LIFE! I must move on and live for today......really live. Still......I must keep my thoughts quiet. I cannot share them with my closest of companions.....this is the pain I walk with.

after 13years of marriage, today it finally came to an end!.
it felt very strange as i entered into the court room, my attorney on the right and hers on the left.
we were the first group of 15 or 16 case to be heard today.
Oh my------your post brought tears! I experienced the same pain in May of 2005. My lawyer walked me to the court house and I found myself divorced! I still grieve the LOSS!

a question for any who may wish to comment.
what would be the response if i asked a jw to open our "discussion" in prayer to jehovah for our eyes to be open to the truth of what we are about to study?
Sadly, my lifetime experience with Jehovahs Witnesses is, prayer is nothing but ROTE! They say a very basic prayer at every meeting or gathering. I can count on one hand, the number of prayers that were moving or sincere, and I was married to an ELDER for almost 30 years. Those very few prayers that had any meaning were usually given by a young one or someone newly associated. You can make your request but I believe God is as BORED as I, and will hardly take notice!

i was raised "in the faith" for most of my life.
my mother married an elder when i was 1 1/2 years old.
he came from a family of pedophiles (also jw's) and i was a pet project.
When you drop into the darkest hole and manage to find the LIGHT, to find your STRENGTH......to learn to LIVE.......I applaud the person you are!!!! I wish you had a better start in life, it angers me to hear of such INJUSTICE! Keep moving forward in life!

and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!
NO....Opr83...I know as well as YOU...that you DO NOT have ALL the RIGHT answers! I WISH YOU did......with ALL my heart! You are...as they say....IN IT.....YOU are searching for answers in the place where YOU once thought they could be found.....I....I am searching elsewhere.....one day we will come together and compare notes!
