DAVE ----- Mostly, I have found you to be an intelligent man. But frankly, I didn't call the BIG NEWS bullshit, but the sharing of " BIG NEWS COMING" as bullshit! How do you prepare for something you don't know about. You wait and act appropriately when you KNOW the facts! Ones have told me to take valium, have a drink, calm down! COME ON, who needs to calm down??!!! Speculation has run wild!! What good does it do? Some aren't sleeping, some are checking the site every hour! What will be will be!

BIG TODAY is far better for everyone, then BIG NEWS is coming! Coming when? Coming soon. It is BIG NEWS, but I can't tell you! IMHO, that is BULLSHIT! KEEP YOUR mouth shut, till it is actually NEWS!

i actually never knew the names until i came upon jwd, but are those members mentioned in the publications and is it only apostates that know about the two new members of the gb, cause i mentioned it to an active jw friend last night and she had no idea and wondered where i got that information.
i told her i couldn't remember where i read that.

So I'm not supposed to know about the two new GB's am I? I mean I am certainly not in the center of the Org. I am an inactive witness, yet I knew this info, only because I come to this site. My friend asked me how I knew, I couldn't tell her the truth where I found this out. I used to hate it when ones would come back from bethel and brag about meeting and talking with members of the GB. Especially when it was one particular elder. He acted like he talked to JC himself! Anyway, I'll need to be more careful in the future about the inside info I know. LOL

whatistruth------I disagree with you! As in any group, some are aware of their hypocrisy, some are brain dead and living an unconscious "life", which makes them appear to be hypocrites. I think as with ANY high control group it takes a bomb shell to open their eyes, some close them again and carry on....others join the JWD.

I THINK ALL of YOU are HYPOCRITES! Because honestly, ALL humans ARE!!! We say one thing and do another!
WHY put this label on the JW's exclusively! I see hypocrisy everywhere I go, including looking in my own mirror! The problem with the witnesses and what rightly may be their failure, is the looking and asking for PERFECTION when there is NONE! PERFECTION is NOT to be found in this organization or anywhere ELSE! The sad thing is we EXPECT it in this group! Each one of US found out we weren't PERFECT and as someone else on this forum and another thread stated........we got OFF the TREADMILL! The WALK is FUTILE!!

Prayer??? Real or just something we fool ourselves with!
by free2beme ini was thinking about this today and i found a interesting thought in my mind that i thought would be worth considering here.
i should start off by saying that i do not think prayers to god are answered, as it is like making a call to a wrong number.
however, i do think you can fool yourself into thinking they are, in the following way.. let's say you pray over and over asking for this and that and that.

I haven't heard a worthwhile prayer in years!!! No offense to my ex-husband, who occasionally reads the forum, but I knew exactly what he would say at the family dinner table in prayer. EXACTLY! I cringed at his prayers at the end. It was painful. Prayer at the kingdom hall is the same way. Boring, unmoving, rote! If I am bored, is GOD?
