Definitely report it to the authorities. If he is telling the truth, they can interview him and figure it out maybe. If he's lying, maybe they'll interview him and give him a real tongue lashing. It's definitely creepy to say the least.

Someone recently made a very veiled threat in my area against a local small airport because of the noise. He really was wanting to complain about noise and with his statements about "you might not want to know what I'll do if you don't quiten them planes down" he got a nice friendly visit from the FBI the next day. They took him very serious. Threats are never a good thing.

I've only been here a few short months but I love the newbies who come along and ask the same questions I did, and obviously others before us, there are always old topics to read. It always floors me that someone else actually felt and thought the exact way I did.

Or it is all part of a big story in the bible and there was no Jesus therefore the trinity is irrelvant anyway

That is my opinion. Jesus might have lived but his legend has surpassed what he was as a human a hundred times over. I think he was a great person, either way, trying to reform the religion of his day, he was a rebel!!! BUT, I don't believe he was God, or superhuman or anything else. So to me it's irrelevant.

But I can think of it in this way, if you have 3 boxes, all a bit smaller than the next one, you can easily fit them inside each other. It's ain't that hard to understand.

More conversations with my wife - birthdays this time

i was out to lunch with my wife today and she was telling me how our child did not want to go to school that day because they were doing a bunch of st patricks day stuff.

our child really can't stand being different and left out.

i feel so bad for my child.

I'm printing this out and giving it to a girlfriend for her children. This is HUGE.

You know I threw my own birthday party when I turned 25, I had the TIME OF MY LIFE. I wore a tiara all day, dressed up, I really felt special. So what if there is UNDUE honor placed on a person... you can't tell me that the elders, COs, bethalites, don't heap up "undue honor" when they visit the lowly publishers. They get special treatment. Why can't the little person get 1 day to celebrate the fact they are alive?

I like the way you think!

If you compare the love between a husband and wife to a Witness and the organization think about it this way.

The husband goes to Iraq, the wife stays faithful but she doesn't go eat at the restaurant that was their favorite Friday night ritual place say Pizza City or whatever, in fact she stays at home eating home cooked meals and waits the 18 months for his return and does remain faithful to her husband and loves him just as much. If someone came along and critisized her for NOT going to Pizza City every Friday night and wanted to haul her into a judicial meeting over that, it wouldn't make any sense.

Now going back to a person who loves God. Just because they aren't attending meetings, going through the Watchtower middle man, doesn't mean anything. It doesn't mean diddly squat. The relationship between a person and God is PERSONAL and doesn't need to involve any middle man.

A 1914 generation question

i was around in 1995, barely, but i dont remember any talks or articles where the new light about the generation of 1914. did they change w/o coming right out and saying so,or was there a talk.

especially in regards to the mission statement or whatever in the awake, did they make an announcement or did they just hope no one would notice?

i just cant believe that there wasnt a mass exodus after that, my family never mentioned the change to me, i didnt even know til years later on this site.

I told my mother recently that when I studied the bible with people I used the "Live Forever" book but that it's outdated now because of the HUGE emphasis on 1914 in that book. She didn't say a thing to contradict me. She is still holding her breath "any day now"

Rant about the term "WORLDLY"!!!!

my husband was talking at the table with his young adult daughter last night.

for those of you that don't know, he is a long time witness, and his children are of course witnesses also.

we were married when he was df'd, and i knew all about him being a witness and wanting to return.

The term "worldly" means such a different thing out in the real world. It means sophisticated, up on current events, educated, modern, all sorts of things. Someone who sticks their head in a hole and only feeds on WTS stuff is far from worldly, they are narrow minded, have limited knowledge, and definitely not modern.

I think it would be good for you to stand up to that, tell him how that makes you feel.

Who remembers "Welcome to the Great Crowd" ?

i was baptized in 1986 at the tender age of 11 yoa, but i remember after sitting through that stupid talk (where i almost fell asleep, no kidding) and then prayer, then getting dunked, then they announced a welcome to all newly baptized people and said "welcome to the great crowd" .

it's so weird remembering that specifically.. now i think, welcome to the great dwindling crowd of duped people not going anywhere.
