i am writing to give you a quick update about our ongoing statutory inquiries into safeguarding and charities linked to jehovah’s witnesses.. as you may know, one of our inquiries is into watch tower bible and tract society of britain.
we opened this inquiry in 2014. watch tower then initiated what turned out to be protracted litigation against us.
Vidiot in the UK we don't have "separation of church and state", but we do have freedom of religion.
The charity commission apparently decided long ago that "Bible education work" counts as charity.
Maybe the purpose of the exercise is to raise awareness about the lack of charity going on rather than actually aiming to get them removed.

I find it hard to believe the UK will strip JWs of charity status unless they take it away from all religions. JWs have problems, but I don't know that it's enough to single them out and stigmatise them in this way.

i think we can say many of those laid off no longer trust the governing body because of being lied to repeatedly over so many things.
things are getting very explosive at the governing body's home location kind of ties right in with being moved to a seriously pcp contamined chemical dump site, in fact bad karma has come to rest where ever these stupid lying clowns go.

I would maybe wish to add a factor that makes the JW worldview so sedictive. In the modern world where old certainties are in flux and old answers are always tentative and relative, JWs hold out the offer of a worldview with definite answers to all life's difficult questions: like how should men and women conduct themselves in relation to each other; what is it useful spending your life doing; is political and social engagement worthwhile; what is the future of humanity. JWs attract people who like definite answers to these sorts of questions, and who find the shifting sands of the modern world unsettling or even distressing. For many people, the security of such certainties has great value, prompting them to overlook the quality of the answers offered. It's why JWs can also tolerate a lot of doctrinal shift too. The certainty of the answers and worldview offered is more important than the actual content of the answers.

having watched many jc youtube videos one question that gets asked is "where else would you go?".
in other words if not jehovah's witnesses then what other religion or organisation would you go to?.
it's one that i have trouble answering, what would you say?.
First thing to point out is that it's a misquote from Peter who asked Jesus "Lord, whom else shall we go to?" John 6:68
As usual JWs discursively displace Jesus and put the organisation in his place, so they ask "where" rather than "who".
