I took “capture what will happen” to mean “portray now in fictional video format” rather than “film during it happening”.

March broadcast - Tightpants Tony wants to be filmed in action
by sir82 indid anyone else notice this?.
tony tightpants has the "morning worship" featurette in the march jw broadcast.. he appears to be hoping that someone will be videotaping the slaughter of 7 billion men, women, and children at armageddon.. quote is something like "we have some really good videographers here at bethel, but i don't think even they could capture what will happen.
still, all things are possible with god..." (not exact, but that is the gist).. and of course morris imagines himself as one of the "anointed", who will be the ones, per wt doctrine, to conduct the slaughter.. it takes a special kind of hubris, arrogance, and sadism to wish that you yourself could be filmed in the act of slaughtering billions of people.. i've encountered a lot of jws with "dark souls", but based on his public comments, i'd say morris has teh blackest one i've seen.. if he says stuff like this for broadcast to 8 million + jws, what does he say in private?

It will be interesting if they abolish reporting time while trying to retain control of publishers preaching. Because I believe this would not work out as planned. No matter how much informal pressure is applied, if no hours are reported, JWs will take this as a signal to stop preaching. Just as they took the abolition of cover prices for the literature as a signal to stop paying for them. No amount of exhortations to voluntarily contribute to cover the cost of printing did the trick. -

Do you know who wrote ...
by vienne indo you know who wrote the 1959 watchtower book jehovah's witnesses in the divine purpose?

I can’t see this name anywhere on the thread, but I noticed the other day that Ulysses Glass is credited as author of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Divine Purpose by Dr Bertil Persson in the book “Jehovah’s Witnesses in Europe - Past and Present, Vol II”.

Short-sighted WT ?
by Tech49 init has always struck me that wt is so very short-sighted in many things.
often, they are very re-active, and not so much pro-active in their reasoning and the way they plan for the future.. just thinking today, and have kicked this one around for a while now.. is the watchtower organization truly sustainable?
is a new monetary structure on the horizon?

Tech I agree with your analysis 100%. Have you read my oeuvre on this topic? I encourage you to look into my oeuvre.
In fact I wouldn’t dignify selling assets by calling it a “business model”. It is a firesale. It’s the absense of a business model. What will they do when the money runs out?
I would add to your post that there is a lot more cuts they could make and assets they could sell. They still have around 20,000 employees in branches worldwide. If they are not publishing books and magazines any more, then what do they need so many employees for? For all their administration and video production, wouldn’t a couple of thousand suffice? So a lot more lay offs and branch sales may be in the pipeline. And KHs too. The only real question is will they manage it in an orderly fashion or will it be a disorderly crash?

The police escort protected the MP from now-Nazis. So not an example of Labour anti-semitism, obviously. Pretty weird that this should be offered as evidence of Labour anti-semitism.
Where are the examples of anti-semitism abuse from members of the Labour Party? You’d think there would be tons of examples the way they talk about it on the news, but they never quote any actual instances.

So is this all they mean when they talk about bullying and “vile abuse”? I thought it meant more than debate about criticising Israel. I thought it meant Larbour people actually calling Jewish people names and targeting them. That’s the impression I got from the news. But no actual examples.

I am aware that Jeremy Corbyn has supported Palestinians and this is controversial for some. There is lots of footage and evidence of this. Similar complaints are made about his support for Irish Republicans. People make up their own mind about that.
Is that all they mean when they talk about Labour anti-semitism? Because I heard accusations of attacks, “vile abuse” and bullying. Are there any examples of this?

The people making the accusations seems to be Blairites and others on the right of Labour who don’t wish to see Jeremy Corbyn become prime minister.
But aside from motives and intrigues, I am actually interested to know what are they are talking about when they say some in Labour are anti-Semitic. Isn’t it customary to show some examples or evidence? I haven’t seen any. Where is it?

Can anyone show any examples of Labour anti-semitism?

Are there examples of Labour members being anti-Semitic? I always hear the accusation in the news, but never any examples. It’s weird. What are they actually talking about?
I have no problems with Labour factionalism. It helps the cause of independence as Labour look set for wipeout in Scotland. Corbyn did a u-turn on supporting an independence referendum too.
